10 strikers i think the "major coup" could be...

Sun Jul 15, 2012 11:56 pm

Sylvan Ebanks-Blake (Wolves)
Simon Cox (West Brom)
Nathan Delfouneso (Aston Villa)
Connor Wickam (Sunderland)
Federico Macheda (Man Utd)
Jordan Rhodes (Huddersfield)
Darius Henderson (Millwall)
Jermaine Beckford (Leicester)
Jon Daly (Dundee Utd)
and my outside bet, Gary Hooper (Celtic) :ayatollah:

All of these range from very decent to excellent players and i think would cost at least "a couple of million" as Carl described...
Who, out of these names, would anyone want or do you think it might be?
And who else does anyone think it realistically could be? :ayatollah:

Probably that bloke Messi, or knowing how much he loves Cardiff, Ronaldo.

yeah he's a natural finisher, was 2nd top scorer in the SPL last year and he's a target man which i feel we need, i'd love to see him here :ayatollah:

What if... It's not the transfer fee that is £2 million, but the overall package?

There's a world cup striker out there with a small bit of Welsh heritage who fits the bill, swore blind that he wouldn't drop down a division, yet he is still looking for a club.He worked well with a certain Mr. Heskey in the past...

Simon Cox would be good.
Daly scored a hat trick yesterday vs Dundee :ayatollah:

if he could stay injury free then he would bang the goals in, in this division, but i just think he'll stick by his word and not drop down to the Championship, i get the feeling he thinks he's too good for this league :ayatollah:

Pay as you play and close to home? Don't get me wrong, I'm a Swans fan, but him and Heskey would be an absolute menace in this division. Get one of them and you might well tempt the other? I'm going on a bit of gossip that I heard ...Nothing else.

Scored an incredible amount of goals, on his day he can be incredible, can also play on the wing sort of? Austin seems realistic

With Rodriguez off though i think Burnley would be hugely reluctant to sell Austin, would be another good signing though :ayatollah:

Doesn't he mean Bellamy?

Darius Henderson a major coup - I don't think so. Only two names from that list stand out to me - Jordan Rhodes who is surely going to the prem or Simon Cox, who may be a realistic target. Daly, I know nothing about, the others are unproven prem youngsters or journeymen like Beckford who move for the money.

I think Darius Henderson is an excellent player and would suit us down to the ground :ayatollah:

I would also love to see Connor Wickham here, but the person on the list I would like to see here LEAST is Beckford, definitely!

i'm not so sure he's a natural goal scorer though, but he is extremely fast.

there are alot on the list that i would prefer :ayatollah:

To be honest mate, you asked who the major coup was. Henderson and some of the others you listed might be good championship strikers, but they aren't names that will get people on the edge of their seats like a top prem or European striker would - that in my eyes is a major coup. Don't mean to be pedantic but maybe the title was a bit misleading.
