Says £1 billion overspent here. And anyway Israel have a defence force made up mainly of reservists so why can't we..? Personally I don't want our forces to be based in the likes of Germany and Cyprus anymore as times have changed.

Israel has conscription. its reservists leave the forces fully
armed and ready to fight at the drop of a hat. they are fighting
for their religion.. not a government. they are the best equipped
best looked after soldiers in the world.
