Malky Mackay honeymoon period is well and truly over!

Thu Jul 12, 2012 7:36 pm

Remember last season when everybody had said they'd lower their expectations for the first season Malky was in charge, and it was infact the following season (NOW 2012/13) that we would judge malky on his team that he has built, extinguishing almost all of Dave Jones employees... Well, that was BEFORE all this rebranding, and £100m investment was talked about....

So now, we judge right? We decide this season that Malky's team will be fully prepared (or 99% complete allowing for the rest of this summer and a Jan. window) to attempt to get us successfully to the premier league?

He said he has been backed in the market, has most of the tools he needs at his disposal, and we will push for promotion.

Now after the rebranding, and all the unhappy fans, There is even more pressure on him and the board to actually achieve something in 2013?

How will you feel next season if we fall short again? and what are YOUR expectations for the coming season.... on the basis of what we have now, and the rumoured personnel coming in?

Like to hear your views especially about last seasons low expectations compared to the season when we said we'd start judging? THIS SEASON 2012/13.... :ayatollah:

I'll get back to you when the season starts. Can't really tell yet.

I'm not expecting promotion just yet.

This will be our 10th season at Championship level. If there is one lesson that has been proved time and again in this league it is that fortune favours the bold (Southampton, Wolves, Hull, Burnley, Swansea, Blackpool, QPR etc)

We have thrown off the scakles of the terrible Dave Jones era (we were never bold under him) and MM has had a successful bedding in year.

There is now no reason whatsoever not to be bold and go for it in every game we play. Do that and we will go up.

without any more signings you can't say we will get promotes yet, a few more (i mean atleast 5) we can think of it but we need a good start and a solid middle part most importantly!

If Bellamy is tied up (which I'm hearing is in the bag!) then I will EXPECT to go up this season with our team.

Malky has added to it wisely - and there are still ins and outs to happen. The board owe us (the fans) promotion after what they have done to our identity.

If we don't go up this season, then it will be down to Malky and his squad. Nqat.

This season I will judge from the heart, so if somebody doesn't perform then i'll be making sure I have my say....

I agree, but last year I thought that MM was slightly negative in his tactics by playing 4-5-1 at home matches, e.g Coventry (bottom 3 team). The teams that have been promoted go for it. Evidence of this is in the fact that we score very few goals in the last 10 mins and seem to ease off. In contrast teams like Norwich were regularly scoring up until the last 10 seconds.

Lets hope that we are more positive this season and the football is more attractive. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Problem is everything has fallen at the same time
Increased expectation due to rebranding and massive division of the fans. And this Championship season being the strongest ever.
We will have to compete with Wolves, Bolton, Blackburn, Blackpool, Birmingham, Charlton, Boro, Leicester, Hull, Leeds and maybe even Hudders, Forest and Watford.
All for 6 places, going to be really tight. I'm afraid we may have to lower our expectations slightly again this season.

In 2013/14 then if Birmingham aren't a PL team they are well and truly screwed, as are Bolton so that is more likely to be our year. IMHO

If we draw 18 f*cking games again I'll be fuming! Unless we win the rest of them!

If we don't go up this season we're plainly f*cked

This is the worst pre-season that I can think of, thanks to Tan's crazy 're-branding'. The Malaysains are all mouth, along with Whiteley, and the rest of the yes-men. The support is divided as never before. Anything but promotion this season will be a total failiure. Our traditions and culture have been prostituted. If the Maaysian liars don't deliver, then just clear off. Our club is a total joke. Just let us get back to being Cardiff City FC.

To be honest I think we're gonna need more players 9 or 10 new faces 1 or 2 out even if we buy 6 and 3/4 free transfers that will bulster the team, so if we get unlucky with injurys and fixtures we will be ok

we are a top 6 side
so thats where i would expect to finish

Impossible to tell at this stage for me.
The fact MM has said he is backed will have added pressure. I think we will be stronger this season but MM also has to make it entertaining or at least more entertaining and I think signing wide players will do that.

I think this post is a bit OTT. We ARE Cardiff City FC and you have to let things like has happened to our club settle down. Like you said there has been alot of upheaval around the club and maybe forcing the issue won't help.

That being said I fully expect us to be in the play-offs - anything less I would think of as a bad season. I've got a funny feeling we could be 2nd or 3rd with some more additions of the quality we have seen so far. :ayatollah:
