Bellamy will quit Anfield mid-contract and rejoin Bluebirds

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers will let Craig Bellamy make an emotional return to Cardiff City in his Kop revolution.

Rodgers is lining up new faces for his attack and plans to allow the Welsh star to head back to the ambitious Bluebirds for the start of the season.

Bellamy is a target for Malky Mackay’s club who have funds for a landmark signing - and also want to bring back their former hero after a difficult summer when they re-branded and changed their strips to red.

And Cardiff have come up with a deal to tempt Bellamy to join for a second stint - with the move set to be sealed and announced shortly.

Bellamy is on duty with Team GB but sources close to the deal reveal he will be a Cardiff player long before the start of the Championship season.

Ironically the move depended on former Swansea chief Rodgers giving the green light to his exit midway through his Liverpool contract.

Bellamy signed for Kenny Dalglish on deadline day at the start of last season. But the lure of Cardiff - and a return home - is too good for him to refuse.

The new Anfield boss is closing in on deals for Italian hit man Fabio Borini and Fulham’s Clint Dempsey as he revamps his forward line.

Rodgers would have been happy for Bellamy to stay and play a bit-part role but still figure in domestic and Europa League games.

However the chance to lead Cardiff back to the big-time is more attractive for the far-travelled forward whose last stay at the club ended in play-off semi-final failure.

can you see this happening sooner rather than later?

i know topcat posted that page previously but you cant help think that a perm signing of a player like that can be a mssive benefit,

give the fans a lift, attract other quality players, and merchandising alone...


i hope we dont dwindle on this until the end of august, it would be good to get craig in early, especially as he is going to be at the olympics aswell...

Only when Bellamy signs will I believe it.Very good player loved him playing for us and I hope he does sign for us would love to see him play for us but off the pitch he is full of shit with some of the stuff he comes out with .Hope he has learnt to shut his mouth.

No odds for staying at Liverpool? He is still under contract isn't he - and no LFC confirmation he is leaving.

Still, looks positive.

I tend to ignore odds in stories like this, they just changed in accordance to money being placed on, with the amount of stories being printed about Bellamy and Cardiff it's no surprise a few have been putting their money on it and therefore decreased the odds. Whilst the mirror isn't a very good source all the times I think this is a transfer that may happen, the Malaysians certainly seem to like him which makes it more likely as well

Liverpool striker Craig Bellamy is being linked with a move back to hometown club Cardiff City if he's allowed to leave Anfield.

There are reports suggesting he is surplus to requirements at Anfield under the new regime of Brendan Rodgers and that he will be allowed to move on after he has completed his work with team GB at the Olympics.
Rodgers is said to be closing in on a £10million deal for Roma striker Fabio Borini and trailing wantaway Fulham star Clint Dempsey and, if he were successful in either pursuit, then Bellamy could be allowed to leave.
Cardiff are long-term admirers and they would pull out all the stops to try and tempt him back to South Wales.

quality of the highest order - genuine pace. Instinctive goal scorer rather than clinical - I remember that one-on-one he didn't convert, was it at home against QPR? and the last minute chance he had at the back post against the Jacks to draw the game which went wide from 6 yards. By the same token I remember his free kick against Doncaster, and THAT goal against the Jacks

would love to see a player of his quality in our team - it was a real thrill to watch him play for us, the number of right backs that he made to look stupid was fabulous

not getting carried away with it just yet, will believe it when he is sat there on the telly with Malky - as for his money etc, he spends a huge amount on his charity, so good luck to him.
