These laws and this booklet are a very important part of our history. The booklet may date from the 1300s but the laws are far older than that dating back to the 9th century. They call that time the dark ages in English history books, but here in Wales we had laws that would be seen as modern even today. Wales in the 9th century certainly wasn't in the dark ages, the English, well they were still in the bogs of Bavaria.

Yes look forward, but if we don't remember who we are we have no direction and no purpose.

The spirit of Hywel Dda may be resurrected in the near future:

The more our laws diversify from English laws the more practical this will become. However, I admit there are plenty more pressing issues to be getting on with at the moment

Spend it on NHS!? Why would anyone want to give more money to those bungling swindling idiots and not a genuine piece of Welsh history?!

It always makes me laugh when I see people spending every single penny in the whole world on stuff they pay their taxes for anyway. They'll be offering to stump up the bankers bonuses next!

Great to see someone has their head screwed on and lottery funding being used in a positive and important way. :ayatollah:
