MY PROTEST EMAIL FROM KEEP CARDIFF BLUE

Mon Jun 25, 2012 8:39 pm

Dear Keep Cardiff Blue supporter,

Sincere thanks to the many of you who wrote to Alan Whiteley and Steve Borley as we suggested last week.

It is no secret that at 18.00 at the Cardiff City Stadium on Wednesday this week, the Club is holding a meeting for those who have requested season ticket refunds. Some of us who have requested a refund have been invited but others not.

KCB feels that the Club should have consulted widely with Cardiff City fans before ever embarking on such as drastic step as the re-branding of our beloved Club. Now it has been imposed on us, the Club should at least hold a public meeting for everyone who wants to Keep Cardiff Blue but we know of no plans to do so at present.

We suggest that all supporters of the KCB campaign who are able to do so should attend the meeting on Wednesday. Certainly, all of us who have requested a refund are entitled to be there whether invited or not but why shouldn't all of us who want to Keep Cardiff Blue hear what the Club has to say about the re-branding? Shouldn't the Club be conveying its message directly to a wider audience than the selected number it has invited?

If you do decide to attend the meeting without an invitation and are stopped from entering, please politely request admittance, making the point that since the Club has not consulted City fans on the re-branding, you feel entitled to hear what is being said.

We urge all KCB supporters who attend the meeting to behave in a polite and civilised manner at all times. There will undoubtedly be media present and we have no wish to cause a scene or damage the image of Cardiff City or KCB.

At the meeting itself, we anticipate that Alan Whiteley will re-iterate what the Club has already said about the planned investment. Until now, the Club has given no convincing reason as to why the investment is dependent on the Club giving up its traditional colours and image. Please press for an answer on this point. You may also care to question why the investment is in the form of loans to the Club and not share capital.

Of course, pressure will be exerted on people to drop their opposition to the re-branding. There may even be a suggestion that by wanting to Keep Cardiff Blue you are being disloyal and wanting the Club to fail. This is nonsense of course. KCB is not anti-Malaysian or anti-investment and certainly not anti-Cardiff City, we simply want to retain our 100 year old identity and traditions.

If anyone is able to make an audio recording of the meeting, that would be useful.

As ever, this idea of attending Wednesday's meeting is just a suggestion for those who are comfortable with it. Please behave in a restrained and impeccable manner at all times if you choose to act upon it.

Many thanks again for your support of Keep Cardiff Blue.

KCB
