WORLD POWERS

Sun Jun 24, 2012 8:36 am

The first real power were the Romans. They left their influence and traditions in the places they conquered, specially here in Britiai. After the Romans there were more or less powers but most would say they were crusades that came and went. Such crusades known to us are the Vikings, Normans and on a individual bases Alexandra the Great. The next real power after the Romans were the British.

Britain not that long ago ruled half the world. This was called the Commonwealth and is still alive today but no where near its influence. This Commonwealth reached both sides of the world, Fiji in the East and the Americas in the West. Some of the lands discovered had great prosperity such as India and Canada. Unfortunately for Britain it could not substain its presence in these lands and had the same problem like the Romans, the originals/locals rose and forced thier conquerers out one way or the other. However a number of the British traditions were accepted by the locals, just like the Brits accepted the Roman ways, and the next super power was born.

The United States of America commonly known as the USA is perhaps the strongest power ever to be around. Although it never conquered lands its influence around the world has had more of an affect than ever settling in other countries. It has been clever in its dominance by helping its friends instead of stepping on its land and ruling. Prime examples being World War Two were it help its motherland defeat the dangerous Nazi regime. Another prime example is the way it fought communism by persuading the neighbouring countries against the idealogy to have its own military bases there. However lately the Amercians have diverted away from this tactic of helping out and have conquered lands lately like Iraq which could turn out in the end to be its downfall.

Where the Romans left their influence for the next superpower to be born only for that superpower to do the same for the USA the next superpower is about to be born that will have that American influence without ever having a Yank foot step on it. China is primed to take over with its large population and "new culture". This new culture being the way the Chinese government have adapted the business acumen of America. From communism to capitalism has been Chinas greatest achievement, forget the Great Wall this move to commercialism makes that architecture on their North border look like a garden fence. What is impressive though is the way this new power has kept its traditions instead of adapting its outside influences.

China is RED and it likes DRAGONS. Now it is about to become a super power. That means it is going to have a lot of very rich people if it has not already. These people will have loose change in their back pockets that could buy of the debts of some poor third world country. Most likely this loose change will buy other things such as a football club to be used as a toy. If this is the case then a RED club associated with a DRAGON will be a great attraction.

Summing up it is very clear now why the Malaysians are going ahead with this rebranding. I believe they had this in mind from day one. Think about it, Wales is a RED country and has the dragon as its symbol. Cardiff is its capital and has a football team with great potential if managed right. So get the right management in, rebrand it to red and there is a potential to make a huge profit from these new wealthy people coming out from the Far East.

Calculated risk.

What a lot of people don't realise is that the likes of Tan always have an eye on up and coming economies. Most business men try and break into established markets but the bright ones like Tan look at history and see how the greats made it. In an environment were poverty exists there are some very rich people. That is who Tan is targetting.

Good post. I'm no expert but would think that you don't usually become a billionaire without knowing what you're doing. These are exciting times for Cardiff City

I don't think that's true. I would not be surprised to see us back in blue at some point in the future. May be years and may be post-Malaysians but one day. Until then I'm going to enjoy the ride. Hopefully. :ayatollah:
