I had this horrible feeling there was going to be some big statement saying "the manager will have a transfer budget of £££££"
But he didn't. Thank the lord.
Imagine if he had? We would've been shafted royally by clubs and agents of players we are interested in. All of a sudden clubs will be saying...you want our player? great. I know you have £Xm so our value of said player is now 5x as much as he really should be worth!
Then any out of contract/released players we are after who have agents....well guess what they will be doing?!?!?! More so than they normally would because they know we have cash to burn!
Yes ok, explain to the masses where the investment is going to be and what will be done, pay off debts, build training facilities etc...that's great.
But please, keep the transfer budgets/wage budgets in-house.
