All I can say is, if you're being paid over a million pounds to slur the odd generalisation about a mediocre half of football, the least I would expect is some basic 'research'. For example, when asked to predict the final four, pick teams who actually can.

Boring pundit, dull opinions, complacent and incompetent and should be quietly relieved of his punditry duties. There are many more individuals who would be better, just look at Gary Neville and Roy Keane's punditry success.

In short, bore off Alan.

Been saying this for years, he is a dreadful boring and mediocre. Obviously whoever is in charge of recruiting pundits was a fan of the 1980's Liverpool side because that can be the only reason why he got the job along with that equally as boring Mark Lawrenson.

Ohhhga no i never Just my opinion mate that i like him and rate him.

I think too much is being read into it, he hasn't said all 3 from the same group will be there, it's just been twisted. He said he obviously thinks holland and Germany will make it, don't rule out Portugal, they are in the mix. That's fair enough to me, he thinks they could all do it based on capabilities, but impossible for them all.Sorry, probably sound like a boring old man tryin to correct u haha

I like Hansen, although I have to agree with you Boris, the BBC pundits are f*cking woeful. Lawrenson is terrible, it's like they are too afraid to get rid of him, Shearer is so boring. Seedorf is alright I guess but he should be flanked by two proper pundits.

Souness is the best for me, not scared to mix his words as he has no desire to go back into management and doesn't care if he pisses people off. Neville is very good, as is Ray Wilkins. Notice how Sky give a lot of people a chance to appear on there programmes as a pundit but very few get asked back.

BBC should do this.

I don't happen to read The Sun, however I don't look down on those who do as tabloid journalism has a purpose.

I agree with you all though, BBC punditry is dire and it feels like they've just accepted the Hansen/Lawrenson/Shearer trio. Sky on the other hand are far more willing to give new pundits a go and have a wider and more interesting pool to choose from.

Essentially, they need a shake-up; some may even say a 're-branding'. ( )

i like lee dixon and i like lineker as the 'host'. but hansen is a total bellend, hes got an attitude and ego and thinks hes in place to slag off anything he can find. he likes the sound of his own voice and if anyone other than the main guys are on the show he'll just talk over them!
