What IDIOT agreed to pay

Kenny Miller 25 large a week?

Its no wonder we are in the shit when we pay a mediocre striker who returns just over double figures a wage that is more in line with mid PL than it is a mid table championship club who do not have any money.

Yet people say the Malaysians are so savvy when it comes to business.

Obviosuly not football business.

Malky's obviously the football man and I'd imagine that he'd have thought Kenny was worth the money and the Malaysians have merely backed their manager!

i agree we sold chops on a reported 15k and let jay go on 8k per week due to cost cutting we was told and didnt offer him a contract yet we have paid a donkey more than both on the next page so you are rite they malaysians are savvy when it comes to getting less with it costing more

Bluebird 1977,

I agree £25k for Miller is over the top, but the point about comparing Bothroyd's and Chopra's wages is misleading.

Bothroyd would have been demanding a massive increase to renew his contract (I understand he wanted approx £20-£25k per week) and we received a transfer fee for Chopra which help fund most of Miller's costs last season, so there were genuine cost savings made by releasing them both, plus the fact that he got rid of two egotistical workshy bellend's (talented bellends maybe!), who would not have benefitted the dressing room last year.

Malky would I'm sure have expected more from Milelr when he called upon the Malaysians for financial support, and ultimately he was not worth his salary last year, but you can't blame the Malaysians.

Christ,I'm glad you lot don't buy the players and judging by your comments you'd be no good at scouting either.

Not picking holes with your figures here Tugger, but I think Chops was on at least £20,000 per week, if not £25,000!

I believe that he was on 14k, but as he's signed a new contract recently, it could have gone up! :ayatollah:

Surely we are just guessing here? Contract details are secret?

Perhaps I read wrong. Still 14k for a defender in the championship is well over the odds.

His agent come back to us with a 14k offer ask carl, annis whoever else knows but we said no for whatever reason. Chops was sold because of his ego/lifestyle i guess due to signing on fee up there which we all know where that went. Still my point is at the time we was told we qwould be cutting back yet now look at us supposed to have millions yet we got kenny steak bake foot miller hitting 9/10 shots in to row Z and two guys that was left to go who was on less money at the time between them and both twice the player for goals per game . :ayatollah:

Malky McKay is the answer. He is given the budget and it is up to him (as manager) how he spends it.

If this was supposed to be an anti-Malaysian thread then you would have been better asking who gave Malky such a big budget that he could afford to pay Kenny Miller £25k p/w.

But as to who is ultimatley responsible for employing Kenny Miller on such a huge salary then I'm sorry the answer is MM not VT.

I'm not a big fan of Kenny Miller - but am intrigued to find out that he is paid '25 large' - please provide your proof.

If that's true then that surely dispels the myth of overpayed DJ players. All of the high contracts there were signed off by Malky. It's the low end contracts that are DJ relics.
