CARDIFF CITY ALTERNATIVE BADGE DESIGN RESULT

Today, we have been asking for your verdict on Cardiff City's new official emblem and a selection of alternative crests local designers have come up with in the past 24 hours.

Our vote came after wide-spread criticism of the new emblem, which was revealed as part of major re-branding plans confirmed on Wednesday.

Our series of designs ranged from the slick and modern to the whacky and oriental.

Around 1,200 fans have cast their votes today and we can reveal the winner is this crest designed by Working Word graphic designer Tim Haughton.

Completely agree, I think all of us want our old Cardiff back but if I had to choose and since this is the wy forward at least have that badge instead of the Malaysian McDonald's one we got!

Why is the winning one such a shit greeny colour?

Some really poor designs in that list, Infact other than the winnin one id say the one the club did is second best.

Reminds me of Chelsea's new one but owell nice!

I like them both but the latter just shades it for me. I think it's very creative and meaningful.

Thanks Hofmeister for Posting my logo here.. Ive seen one of the comments about it looking like chelsea logo a bit.. And thinking about it, yes it actually does even tho that was never the intention. The outer ring was originally just red, but after finishing it i decided it needed more blue and so it is as you see it now.. I guess it now shows the transition from the bluebirds to the new colours.. but as hard as it is to us city fans, it also shows blue and red working side by side.

The Logo has been printed in the south wales echo today along with 4 others.

the readup for my logo is : among the pick of the latest badges sent to the echo is a stunning circular design featuring a fire-breathing Welsh dragon and bluebird designed by Karl Payne.

if it doesnt become our emblem - would be great on bages and t shirts etc -

Hi Karl, I personally love your design, one of the best I've seen and should be considered without a question of a doubt. One thing that would add better detail to the dragon would be a few ridges on the back of the neck IMO. Just a bit of constructive feedback

Like this also. One thing I would change though is the flames. Not to keen on that. But it's a very good design!

I liked one of the others on the media Wales website also. Thinks its been posted on the board.

Cheers guys, really appreciate the comments, if anything does happens with city wanting it, of which i very much doubt then ill make the changes.. in all honesty i wish it was that easy that we just make the comments and they listen and change the artwork.

The third badge with the spikes on the neck of the dragon is first class
can someone e-mail it to VT and TG for their opinion.
Maybe we can also have the word bluebirds embroided or printed on the neck
at thr back.

I'll tell you, I wasn't too fussed about these new designs because I think the new club badge is alright, but man that badge by carl payne is top class!

The club should definitely use it in some respect, if its just on the polo shirts or sweaters even. Great stuff!
