As the article and other posters have suggested, we're not going to make up our shortfall of £12-15m by selling shirts in the far east to plastic Man U/Liverpool/Chelsea/Real Madrid fans. Not to mention the fact the number of counterfeit shirts is probably huge.

Owain, the selling of shirts is peanuts and they know that, do you think the whole business plans revolves around selling a few thousand extra red shirts in Malaysia.
THE MONEY THEY ARE LOOKING TO ATTRACT COMES FROM MEDIA BACKING AND POSSIBLE SPONSORSHIP OUT EAST, IF BIG BRANDS TAKE US ON BOARD BECAUSE OF THE MALAYSIAN LINKS THEN SHIRT SALE WILL BE IRRELEVANT.

Some people just want to ridicule this rebranding whatever we say, and however logical the points are that we make.

I have no idea what the business plan is, bit I really can't see how having a cheap badge and a red shirt makes us more marketable.

So they'll be attracted to our dodgy badge and red shirt rather than our pre-existing malaysian links?
