We have seen a few clubs with rich owners who are not throwing money away for fun such as Aston Villa, really struggle to break the top 4/6 of the PL. A similar owner for Cardiff would only get us so far.
VT knows the Asian market because he is only doing this because he will make the club a fortune in turnover from it. Now, what is coming in soon...Financial Fair Play. Clubs can only spend a % of turnover. So sugar daddys are out! But if we increase our turnover, and we will if we become adopted as the official PL club of Asia, we could be an incredible club!
QPR are selling shirts out there just by being owned by a Malaysian. We will be owned, sponsored and have our culture fushioned with them. VT will surely use his TV channel to make all our games live out there.
This idea has huge potential and we must remember that in this difficult time.
QPR sold 136 kits in Malaysia in the last 12 months. Do the maths on that genius.
Manchester United made justa couple of million and we will never be as big as them.
We are red temporarily because the Malaysian Arthur Daley doesn't like blue or our club.
He divided the fans. I will never forgive him for that.
He lied about us playing in blue too according to his statement.

You mean the away kit????????? Did QPR Rebrand??????????
And what colour do QPR play in?????????????
The red away kit is the only shirt they have been selling in Malaysia and it's gone down well by all accounts.

As above, just 1% of China being interested enough to buy a shirt is £400m a year. Add in Malaysia, Asia and the fact that VT will be marketing us as 'their' team and showing games live...it's a genius way around FFP.
I'm not happy about this, just trying to see the positives...and there are HUGE positives.

Our owners net is worth just under 1 Billion (800 Million I think) and Real Madrid's owners net is most probably worth 10-20 Billion
China's population is 1 billion. If we appeal to just 1% of the country (1 in 100) then we could make £400m in shirt revenue a year. That's without considering Malaysia and the rest of Asia.
What is Welsh for Los Galactico's?

1% wouldn't buy Man United shirts. Why would they buy Cardiff shirts?

And the flaw in your argument is don't you think Man U/L'pool,Arsenal et al would have done this 20 years ago
As for TV, you are contracted into Sky (or whoever wins the next round of rights), you can't just do your own thing

Not in that context, but as far as competing for the top honours and players goes...

demented oh dear
Why is that? If you disagree I want to know why? Do you think VT is just doing this to spite us?
They lied about transfers and lied about the rebranding, got it yet????????

As I said, 1% of China supporting us and buying shirts will bring in £400m a year. Will that not enable us to compete with Real?

If its as simple as that how come Liverpool and Arsenal are not competing with the likes of Real Madrid?
2 clubs with a more decorated history and brand than Cardiff City FC?

Doesn't affect it much. Could be more than 10 million if we really hit it off and become Asia's PL football team

You honestly believe we will sell more than 10 million shirts?? None of the premier league teams sell anywhere near that many shirts so how are we going to do it

By marketing ourselves as their club, a fusion of Welsh & Asian values..who you going to trust..CCFC season ticket holders or VT who has already become almost a billionaire from the Asian market?

Liverpool - 2005 CL winners, 2007 CL runners-up. Hammered Real 5-0 over 2 legs in 2009. Snapped up Luis Suarez under many big clubs noses, inc. Real. Going through hard times due to dodgy ownership (ironic), starting road back up.
Arsenal - 2006 CL runners up (knocking Real out in process), CL qualifiers last 14/15 seasons. Wenger doesn't really compete in large transfer markets anymore due to preference of bringing through youth. Still linked with players such as Goetze who Real would like dearly I'm sure!
Real - No CL final place since 2002.
