Bridesmaids again

Mon May 07, 2012 4:31 pm

Sad to say it not we are not good enough. Our squad is far too small, we lack width and that cutting edge up front. If we are going to be successful next season we have to increase the size of our squad by about 4 or 5 players. I'm stating the obvious here we need width (so wingers please Malky) and we need quality strikers at least two 20 goals per season strikers. You dont win matches if you cant score goals and you cant play 50+ matches in a season with such a small squad - in hindsight it was an impossible task :( . Nobody can blame Malky, he did wonders with what he had at his disposal - don't forget what he had to start with.

First and foremost though we have to clear the Langstone and PMG debts, they are a millstone around Cardiff City Football Clubs neck and successs will not come until the debt issues are eventually resolved. So everyone needs to get around the table thats VT,TG,Sam and PMG and sort it all out.

Enjoy your few months away from Cardiff City Stadium everybody and let's hope sense prevails among the money men at our club.

We're not doing the basics right to begin with. Not winning the second balls etc.

But a good season nonetheless.

The games against West Ham and others have highlighted the fact that we are too physically lightweight in midfield.

We have been over-run in that area of the field recently. Nobody can really put their foot in or intimidate the opposition, like Nolan and his team mates did the other night. If Kiss isn't still carrying an injury, then I can't understand why he hasn't had a game as at least he likes a tackle and is no pushover.

As has been said elsewhere, at the moment it is men against boys out there. We need reinforcements in midfield too, as well as out wide and up front.

Dont think we are lightweight as such in mdfield - just a very very tired side overall. 57 games with such a small squad and not even utilising all of that small squad through the season was just an impossible task. We probably used a core of about 15-16 players all season, which tells me Malky didnt like some of the squad he was left with. Most of them will be out of contract in the next few weeks and Malky will start next season with his own squad which he has built. Hopefully the Board will support him and he can increase the size of the squad by 4 or 5 players for next season. This year was Malky's honeymoon season, next year will have to be a whole lot different. :ayatollah:

Pleased with our league standing. But our performances this season have been absolutely shit. If we want to compete with the big boys we need some technically better players and players with pace, at that.

Well Malky just repeated what I had to say we just saw a very tired side out there. He also said during the summer we need to add more depth to the squad because its too small and we need a little more quality. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:
