For those calling for the Grand National

To be scrapped for the animals safety, what are you views on the London Marathon(which averages just below a death every 3 races and hundreds of injuries minor and major every race).

Please tell me your opinions?

How many people enter the London Marathon?

How many huge fences do marathon runners have to jump?

The original poster uses a false premise for his argument here, I'm afraid.

The reason the marathon is totally different is everyone who competes makes that choice for themselves - at the Grand National the horses do not have the right to say they're not going to take part, which I think you will find is the right of everyone who enters the London marathon.

If anyone was forced to compete, then I would want the marathon stopped as well.

say that to the dead horses - easy to make comments like that when its an unfortunate animal who is going to suffer, not you.

And your point is??????????

I don't think we have a right or duty to cause horses to procreate, but we do (in my view) have a moral right to ensure that if born, they do not suffer for the pleasure of people.

Really??? Not yet formed a view on Gestede?

Polo's response to the thread that indicated he'd been granted a new contract had me in absolute stitches last week.

Let's see how your views develop over time to see if they become more closely aligned with those Polo used to express, as they seem like a slightly toned down version of Polo's views at the moment.

Oh well that makes it all ok then! Let's just totally abuse an animal simply because it was bred to race, it doesn't feel any pain does it after all? :?

I think its Polo on a wind up.

Re: For those calling for the Grand National

Facts are that some animals are bread for a purpose,IE: food sports and Gaming.
I am not condemning such actions because I like a hamburger before the match and a Steak when out for a meal, and although Im not fussed on Horse racing Myself, these animal are bread for this singular reason.

I see a difference in the morale issue of Fox Hunting ( Totaly wrong ,My Opinion) and the one that gets my goat the most is the Hunting and slaying of a shark in its own habitat because it has killed a human in its own Habitat.

If a person was killed walking on a motorway people would ask why was he/she on the motorway? They wouldn't destroy the car!!!
Why should we hunt and kill a shark for doing what it's meant to do.

Rant over  :ayatollah:

Shows how much the 'antis' know about the sport. They call for 'lowering the fences' not realising that it will actually quicken the race meaning the its more dangerous for the horses!!!!

STICK TO WHAT YOU KNOW BEST YOU TREE HUGGING FOOLS!!!!
