Sitting Back

Sun Apr 22, 2012 11:01 am

I understand the arguments and frustration with regards to the team sitting so deep, especially after going 1 up.
A player will naturally sit back and defend a bit more
I have noticed we play quite deep anyway, even at 0-0
Do you think Malky sets the team up that way because the Lack of
pace?
We only have Kev with any real pace at the back and if we play high up, we could easily get undone if a quick striker gets behind
Where-as Malky may prefer defending Long balls into the box

It's a good debate

Yes , if we had pacy strike force and pacy winger would play different ...........Noone would have made a difference but lets judge MM next October once he has his team in place

Agree, one of the issues with Sitting back is when we 'get rid' of the ball and clear, there is no pacy outlet to carry us and let our defence get out.
We end up losing the ball and having to stay back
The summer is pivotal, whatever league we're in
