Now I think you're being no better than the ones who blame everything on the Immigrants . There's lot of people in this country who either work or would like too and they're all not immigrants.

The real reason why an employer picks an immigrant is because they're cheap and have little interest in pay raises or days off ECT (like a British worker would) That's the real reason when all is said and done and its also nothing to do with Skills or doing the Jobs we hate (like fruit picking). You don't needs skills to be a Factory worker (most are taught in the work place) or to be a HGV , Taxi, Bus driver or work in a Hotel , Casino but more and more those jobs are going to immigrants rather than the British , same goes for the Building trade too

The illegals are the ones to worry about a stop has to be put to them. Literally billions of pounds. are put into catching them, detaining them, putting them through the legal system then putting them on planes to their home countries and guess what for good measure our government give them £1500 in their back pocket to go back home with  that's their fare back over here  More resources need to be putting a stop to them getting here in the first place plugging the gaping holes with thousands more immigration staff it will save fortunes in the long run. However I doubt if it will happen politicians are too thick to see the obvious

Agree, but a polish worker with 4 kids in poland gets child benefit sent home. Plus no morgage here. So he can afford to work for less money. Not his fault, but is that fair on local workers?

I'm 30 and left school with just 5 GCSE's and went straight into the Factory work has an service boy getting £80 a week and worked my way up . Sadly most of the Factory that would employ people like me at school age are no longer there with the likes of Panasonic, Hitachi , Sony all pulling out .

That's a huge problem for our youngest today

Are you sure there's 13 pages or did you just do a quick search? Is Bargoed, Tredegar etc etc in Merthyr now? Aberdare, Bleana etc. Plus if you'd bothered to have a proper look rather than a quick search you'll find that a lot of those posts are repeated, basically because they've got a crap search facility on their website. Plus I don't see many full time jobs there.

But even if there were 13 pages of full time jobs there, that should sort out the several THOUSAND UNEMPLOYED POLISH PEOPLE currently living in Merthyr shouldn't it. They are even selling the Big Issue up three for f**k sake.

Just been out to town dinnertime (Merthyr) and full of deadbeats both local, and immigrants.

Popped to the bookies, immigrants in there as usual. Same every day.

These are not workers, they are scumbags, which this country already has enough of.

So you think thats right Johnny? They come over here and claim OUR taxes to spend on cheap vodka / cider, fritter the benefits away in the bookies, and just generally be a nuisance around the banks, doctors surgerys, tescos.etc.?

The benefits they get are more than what they'd get working full time back in Poland. I don't blame them, what they've done is a no brainer. Work your nuts off in Poland for peanuts or move to the UK and live on benefits and be better off.

It's absolute rubbish that these people are coming here to do the jobs we won't do. I know loads of people desperate to work and would do anything offered. One guy I know from Nelson went in to the Merthyr job centre and there were just 3 jobs there. THREE!!!! yet Merthyr is being turned into mini-Poland. Now if anyone believes that they are coming here for work then answer this one - Why then are they going to Merthyr? No offence to Merthyr but it's a shit hole and there are no jobs there. The simple fact of the matter is people are going to live in Merthyr to live on benefits. And to be fair it's probably easier to blend in with a life on benefits there.

Here's another question for those who've believed the governments bollux (both Labour and Tory). If you were Polish and you wanted to up sticks and move to another Euro country - why oh why choose Cefn shithole Hengoed or Merthyr Tydfil? I can think of a few nicer places. How about going to live on the Spanish benefits system? A nice little flat on Majorca would be nice. Or how about a nice little pad on the south of France? Whilst talking about France - why is it all these immigrants meet up in France before desperately trying to cross the channel to England? They are already in France and they've passed through several Euro countries to get that far. So why didn't they just visit their DHSS office whilst there in those countries? You've got to remember that Polish people are free to move to ANY Euro country. There are some lovely places in Europe and lets be perfectly honest here - if you were to write a list of the Nicest places to live in Europe, Merthyr would NOT be on it. The only answer is that it's only the UK that will dish out benefits to immigrants at the level they do. The other Euro countries are a bit more sensible with their tax payers money.

Spot-on Berwyn

But by Jonnys logic we should all renage on our mortgages, work for a pittance, and live 3 familys to a small house just because some impoverished cretin from another country is awilling to.

but why does this government have to provide quality of life for you
all the government needs to do is make sure you have the basics and thats it
it doesnt need to provide you cash to go to the pub with
or pay your season ticket for the football
or pay for your 2 weeks in the sun abroad for your holiday

your supposed to provide your own quality of life
if what youre earning does not provide the luxuries in life that you want then its up to you to improve and work up the ladder
the government is under no obligation to provide that for you

If I was in government that's exactly what I'd do :old:

Trying to be clever are we. Did they teach you history in school ?. I'll think you find this country was build on Immigration during the Iron and Coal industrial age . Its nothing new having a lot of Polish workers in Wales or the Valleys

Ask any Miner and they'll tell you how hard the Polish would work down the Pits .

Yes i did learn history thanks. Did we not liberate poland? Are 1 million british youth unemployed? Yes the poles are in the main hard working citizens, but lets not decry our british youth. To do so would be catastrophic for the future of our country.

Johnny spouting his "kids dont want to work" rubbish yet again.

I left school at 16, 5 gcses, no further education, started on 80k a week, I know earn close to 30k a year.

Most people who work in my factory done the same.

Weve just taken on 10 "Apprentices". All local kids. All 18-21. All on £100 a week to start off but they know the rewards are there if they work hard as approx 150 off our 250 workforce all started off at the bottom and got rewarded for hard work.

Some guys on the shopfloor earn minimum wage but theres plenty of overtime and some guys are putting in 72 hours a week. Are they workshy? No. Are some of them aged between 18-30 - most of them.

We employ one immigrant. Shes a good worker and speaks good English. In a workforce of 250. Yet locals dont want to work according to Jonny.

Jonny you have been shown up time and time again on this thread. You are a little boy who knows nothing about life.
