I understand today that Cardiff have released 9 2nd year apprentice players does anyone know which players were released?

I'm not surpised, I haven't seen a lot of him but he looks well short of a champ defender.

Having watched a couple of youth games, early on in the season, the only player who stood out for me was the CB Yorwerth. Hope he makes it in pro football.

Yorwerth is an excellent player, looks like a skinny version of Ben Turner but maybe 5 or 6 inches shorter.

I think he's still a first year academy apprentice so will have another year ahead of him before a decision is made. He looked excellent in a few games this year

young Wharton is a Cwmbran boy, and son of former Cwmbran town Manager (and player I think) Sean Wharton. i hear good things about him which are nothing to do with video games!

I sit next to Reece Ottley the young goalkeeper's Father and Grandfather in the Ninian Stand and on occasions when the Granfather has not been present as his wife is very ill reece attends and was aware he was being released a few months ago and he is a little upset although apparently Manchester City have asked him up fpr a trial ,I am sure he was in goals for the young welsh team that beat England 4 - 0 ?.

hard time for these young guys! they will have had there hopes on being footballers all their lives. Unfotunately, even though they might be tecnhically good players they will find it difficult to get another club and will more than likely hav to slum it in the lower leagues. They will certainly get a shock when they hit the real world after being in the footballers bubble thats for sure!

Adam Davies has massive reviews and is having trials at several clubs. Really not sure why the club let him go, especially with him being captain.

Adam, Luke Jones and Josh Powell are all Merthyr boys and have offers from elsewhere.

Wharton and O'Sullivan still have another year in the academy system because of their age. Wharton came on as a sub against West Brom in the FA Cup in January. O'Sullivan has represented Wales at a couple of levels.
