Poor players dont play as many games as he has. Always felt he had a lot more to offer but never did. At 34 his best years will be behind him obviously.

Id have him here in the championship in a heart beat though, his power and strength would destroy team.

He was a decent target man back in his Liverpool days and he worked well with Owen for England. Every team needs an unselfish player like him, although I think his unselfishness is due to a lack of technique rather than vision a la Ozil

Only ever rated him when he was at Leicester under Oniel.

He was under no pressure or expectations, and played with no fear and plenty of freedom.

Never been that player since he left.

So answer is he was a good player ONCE!!

I would take him if available Would do a good job at championship level imo.
