O/T....becoming a first aider............

Has anyone gone through the process at work ???

Got my assessment tomorrow lunchtime so bit nervous,
I'm role playing with CPR and recovery position but any advice out there will be appreciated of anything else I may have to do

Just hard remembering each injury or illness and then wot to do.

I've got a booklet and hand outs from the last two days though to help.

Jules ............the best advice I can give is remember DR ABC.... Danger, Response, Airway, Breathing, Circulation ........the recovery position, is straight forward (remember to tilt the head backwards, breathing )

CPR.......depending whoever is training you, they may want you to do rescue breaths .......no need really ...but if they do, two rescue breaths then chest compressions ..................

Done mine a few weeks ago. They arent there to catch you out mate. When they first bought the CPR Dummy out its just the Torso and they call it Annie, He said whats wrong with Annie. You should of seen his face when i said "she cant feel her Legs Chief"

How was Annie today?

It's really easy so don't worry. I'm an Emergency First Response Instructor which is the same as the red cross just under a different name (to do with PADI diving instructors)

They will help you out all that they can when you are doing it, so long as you are safe then you will pass no problem.

It's actually quite fun! Especially for me as I teach it!
