Wed Mar 21, 2012 2:43 pm

Here's the key points lifted from BBC news

The top income tax rate will be reduced to 45% from April next year

The stamp duty rate on properties worth more than £2m via companies will be raised to 15%
Labour leader Ed Miliband says millions of people will be paying more, while millionaires pay less
Mr Miliband says there is a tax rise for pensioners "hidden" in the details of the Budget

The point at which people start paying income tax will be raised to £9,205 from next April

A single tier pension, at a minimum of £140, will be set

Fags are going a monster 37p a packet from tonight...glad Ive never smoked.

50k .... to me should never have had child benefit anyway. the only way to kickstart this country is to get low income families spending, they can only afford to do so if they have money.

Don't forget that not everyone on 50k plus are toffs in good jobs, they are also working class people working long hours to earn a decent living for their families, I don't think those people should lose their child benefit just because they are working hard! Don't forget those people are paying 40% tax as well...
