Personally I think that is a fair question to ask.
Many feel that there may be a lack of backing from the board and that these bids were never real and they were simply 'put out there' to keep us happy.
What I can tell you tonight is that each day for the past 7 days, Malky Mackay and Alan Whiteley have taken calls from Vincent Tan and TG in Malaysia and questions are being asked about the lack of signings.
The funds are in place and the Malaysians are asking everyday when are the players coming in, they are putting pressure on Malky and his team to bring in new signings.
So far since arriving at the club the Malaysians have invested £36million through the initial investment, paying off the creditors and propping the club up to the tune of £1.2million per month and some months that figure has risen to £1.5million.
With regards to the failed bids, £3million had been set aside for two of the players that Malky wanted to do the deals immediately. £2million was ready to be paid up front for Marvin Sordell and the remainder through instalments and the other £1million for Craig Noone and again more to follow as a way of add-ons.
The Sordell deal went pear shaped when his agent Sky Andrew went running to Bolton once he knew Watford had accepted City's offer.
The Noone deal was because of Brighton's chairman declaring no-one was being sold when he arrived in the UK from Australia on the final afternoon of deadline day.
The club mad genuine offers and the bank details had been received from both Brighton and Watford to accept the payment for both of these players.
Malky Mackay has a team of people that 'sound out' potential signings and it is Ian Moody (head of recruitment) who ultimately chooses a target and then the player is checked out and a dossier prepared before a bid is made.
So rest assured the Malaysians want the signings as much as we want them and Malky and his staff are working very hard to bring in new loans.

Josh I am not putting a name on here as I may get accused of ruining a deal, or it is my fault if it don't happen or better still I made the names up![]()
But the name of one of the players has appeared on this site recently and frequently
