They would be far to exposed and would get annihilated in pretty much rapid time. Dont forget that these guys have trained at the sport all their lives, yet MMA fighters are basically jack of all trades and masters of none!

Why should the MMA fight have to fight a boxer under the boxer's rule set? In MMA the boxer would still be allowed to use his hands.

South Wales has a growing MMA scene. There was an event held last night in Cardiff.

And I believe and so do many others, that the best up and coming in the UK and future UFC fighter is a Welshman.

I love MMA. Alot more action than boxing and i think boxing experts know that its becoming more popular.

you cant really compare the 2 sports yes they both involve fighting but different styles of fighting.
you put a boxer on the floor their useless because thats not the way they fight they stand on their feet a trade punches.
mma fighters most fights are won on the floor
Its like asking our football squad to go out and play rugby against a professional rugby team and expecting them to win and say why cant they win they both compete on a grass pitch.
Kevin McNaughton is one of our best players a very good professional footballer, but if he decided to take up rugby i dont think he would find a contract anywhere. Two different sports.

As for Boxing becoming a dying sport you can blame the Americans for that especially the heavyweight division by throwing undrafted NFL players and trying to turn them into professional boxers, it doesnt work but they do it anyway and it blocks good British fighters from competing

Boxing has a rich history but has been ruined by money and to many organisation alphabet champions.
( how have the Klitchkos not been stripped of belts for refusing to face each other)

Boxing has problems as do most sports( maybe more than most but still)
UFC will eventually have to widen the championship belts margin as more fighters appear..

they couldnt box their way out of a bag, or throw a decent punch, the reason they go into MMA is because their is no way on earth they could fight in a skilled big pool of talented boxers.
the fact that they cant use their hands (but they can kick is a scape goat) as anyone who is well knowledged in this knows, the best MMA fighters come from a previous background of boxing, or sometimes jujitsu, and we're very good at it!
