I saw a new Cardiff yesterday

Sun Jan 22, 2012 11:31 am

Yesterday, for me, was a bit of a turning point for us, regarding the brand/style we played
Gone were (most) of Ben Turners 50 yard hoofs, Marshalls hoofs and Hudson hoofs
Playing it out from the back whenever possible, (even at 2-1 down we didnt panic)

We were very very patient and kept the ball extremely well in all areas
I noticed Whitts dropped a lot more than usual which makes sense as our
best passer should be starting all moves

We looked dangerous everytime we went forward

Their were the obvious mistakes which happen
Occasionally but I wouldn't change for Ythe world how that
game panned out

We also used a lot more width and with hopefully a new signing to challenge for a place, maybe
we'll see more pace

Top stuff yesterday, should've been 5 or 6 though :D

i gotta be honest mate i think this is yet another sign of malky's attention to detail. Portsmouth were a big, strong side who (as the other bob wilson mentions in his match report) were more than capable of defending long balls from deep into their box so we had no option to play it shorter, and i have no doubt malky would have drilled the players on this before the game and at half time.
If we were playing a different team maybe we would have been more direct but the fact that we didn't yesterday once again Malky's flexiblity as a manager and in fairness the flexibility of our players as well. It's all looking rosey at the moment and i'm loving every minute of it. :ayatollah:
