True. Still think he deserves a chance

Ideally I'd have Marshall, except today he hasn't done much wrong all season.
Malky will stick with Heaton though.

Heaton

Based on the fact heaten has played every cup game then heaton.
But marshall has been superb, one f**k up in a long time and it hasnt cost us - move on!!
were lucky to ave 2 quality keepers at this level

Totally agree

Yeah, Marshall's mistake pales in comparison to the good he has done. He clearly appreciated the fans chanting his name after the mistake and that's what we're there for, to pick up our players when they are down.
Heaton is our League Cup man though and it would be unjust if he was to be dropped on Tuesday given that he's played in all the League Cup games. I have confidence whichever one of them starts.

Marshall has been great, the out field players drop a boob many times in a game , but when it happens to a stopper more than not it end up in the net. I would say Yes let him start he has made some great saves for us, you cant drop him just for 1 cock up
Sat Jan 21, 2012 7:20 pm
My head says Marshall my heart says Heaton.
In all fairness though it should be Heaton plus you could upset the apple cart by putting Marshall in.Heaton is a great reserve and you never know when you could need him, remember last season!!!!!!
Sat Jan 21, 2012 7:21 pm
I would say Marshall.
Today's mistake was due to him seeing the ball late when Hudson moved in front of him. Heaton on the other hand was at fault against Palace to let Gardner score.
In my opinion.
Whatever's best for the club though!

Doesn't really matter which keeper starts, we are going to win 3-0 either way
Sat Jan 21, 2012 7:29 pm
Yes - Very big game. IMO its safer to keep him in. No disrespect to Heaton hes a great stopper
Sat Jan 21, 2012 7:34 pm
Tom Heaton for me, hes played virtually all cup games, apart from one....if it wasnt for his contribution we wouldnt be this far.
Sat Jan 21, 2012 7:36 pm
Pretty sure Malky has told he will play the cup games, as he has done already!
Team rotation is vital to success and with the small squad we have, we are lucky to have good keepers and two other handy prospects waiting in the wing!
Heaton will and should start as promised. Malky is a chap of honour and of his word.
If we go out - we go out as a team, not as a blamed individual players! WE ARE CARDIFF CITY FC!

His confidence was destroyed last season by that fella who pulled the balls in the last fa cup draw

Just read the above again-very harsh of me to say this (it was a huge cock up) but it was prob only mistake of season.
Malky will pick who he wants too and whoever it is is good enough to get us through
Sat Jan 21, 2012 7:57 pm
Yes he should
got to go with our best 11.
Sun Jan 22, 2012 1:34 pm
Didnt Marshall play against Leicester ? might be wrong
Id go for Heaton ,not fair to punish the lad for one mistake
Would Malky go with Marshall for the final if we get there though?
Sun Jan 22, 2012 1:38 pm
Marshall for me
Sun Jan 22, 2012 1:42 pm
This worries me personally. Heatons reported bottle job and issue with nerves,Like youve said yourself im not sure if the reports were true but if theres any doubt then Marshy should start because its a massive ocassion
Sun Jan 22, 2012 1:44 pm
Hopefully it wo'nt matter who's in goals for us, as i'm expecting us to be camped in their half for 90 minutes.
Sun Jan 22, 2012 2:06 pm
Heaton... Its a squad game, but I would rest Cowie and Miller for next weeks more important game and go with McPhail & Ernie
Sun Jan 22, 2012 3:35 pm
I personally would like Marshall, but Heaton is a great keeper too. I will feel confident whoevers infront of the sticks.
