Very frustrating

Tue Jan 10, 2012 10:11 pm

No creativity due to Palace having 11 defenders.
Every long through went to first post where Palace had 4+
Legit goal
Need to work on corners

Only half time now. With the backing of the crowd we can do it!

Also, why did Malky take off Mason, a striker, and replace him with McPhail, a midfielder, when we were needing a goal.

We were getting over run in midfield and not keeping the ball well at all.
IMO looked a lot brighter after the change.

Corners, felt turner should have done better twice, could/should have scored.

Agree with what you're saying about looking brighter. I suppose bring Earnie on wouldn't have done much good, thought we were crying out for some height up top, a fit Rudy would have been just the thing.

I don't think he wanted to lose another goal which is understandable.
I think mcphail gave us that extra cover but also that extra pass.

Would have been my last choice, was all about keeping palace out again.
Why go for it for 10mins when we have an entire 90mins to go??

Have to admit, at first I wondered why McPhail came on but he actually controlled the midfield. :ayatollah:

Should have brought on Gerrard at the end ( was he on our bench?). He's good for getting headed goals from set pieces.

I did think that myself tbf
Maybe would have interrupted the set up a bit much?

I just know one day he will end his 4 year goal scoring famine by getting the winner in a very important game (the League Cup or Play Off Final) which will mean me going into hiding after all the stick I have given him.

i just thought that they were camped in their box and we needed a bit of running and a major deflection... ;)

Wasnt any room behind them for earnie, we needed a big man.

true, my ideal choice would av been rudy, however as he was missing , i feel that earnie has a knack of being in the right place at the wrong time ;) just like his first 3 goals for us this season... he shouldnt have been where he was, but we got the goals.. other wise i would have left mason on and put mcphail on for ralls...

Re: Very frustrating

Who knows what would have happen, my choice was ralls off and Conway on but in truth it may not have mattered much.

suppose, thing is we never know what we are going to get with conway.. if he had got the ball out wide, there was nothing to aim for in the box... i think it was to be a frustrating day all round for whoever mm would have brought on..

Agreed, the target man was lacking.

I think us the fans will play a huge part in the next round, we need to get behind the team :ayatollah: :ayatollah:
