We are still a selling club

Fri Dec 30, 2011 6:39 pm

and will be till god knows when but we are just one of many which include top premiership clubs..
Money talks and if we get a big bid ( 4m ) for whittingham i think we will find it hard not to sell but we are in a good position to demand good money for our players for a change.
malky says whitts isnt for sale is that just to up the fee?? whatever is decided with whitts or any other of our players lets hope malky has the final decision. :ayatollah:

Every club is a selling club, in every league, money talks.

How many players have we actually sold since the Malaysians took over though?
Chopra is the only one that springs to mind but looking back I get the feeling that wasnt totally a footballing decision.

And they all lived happy ever after....in an ideal world.

We dont live in an ideal world and football is big business now.

As in most businesses the owners and board of directors will have the final say on sale of assets not one of the departmental managers.

Most football clubs are in debt and chances are if you have a good offer for one of your assets it is hard to refuse.

Also a percentage of any sale goes to Ray Ranson because of his loan, not sure how it works but it seems the owners are not keen on paying him back with player sales.

We would have cashed in on bothroyd if we were purely a selling club, even though his attitude ultimately let us down it was a statement of intent that we turned offers away knowing he was probably going to leave in the summer anyway for free
