A forum for all things Cardiff City

I went vinyl record shopping today in a few different areas, and it reminded me that I much prefer the areas of Cardiff I went to as opposed to the monstrosity that is the city centre. Far more authentic, albeit suffering maybe from a lack of community and of course the recession.
So fellow forum members, which are your favourite parts of our capital city?

I've had the fortune of living in some lovely areas of Cardiff including Lisvane and Cathays. I would love to live in either Radyr or Whitchurch.

Tremorfa

Cathays and Roath were lovely today without the students being there. No rubbish in the streets or anything!
Canton is also a favourite of mine.
However, I have a feeling that the areas are not a patch on what they used to be.

Gabalfa estate is home for me, but worked in Whitchurch for 26 years. If I could afford a house there, Llandaff City takes some beating
Or perhaps the area around Heath Park

I was born in Rumney, brought up in Llanrumney, massive estate where everyone knew their neighbours up to 20 houses either side of the road, im from Sedgemoor, used to love playing football and rugby against the other streets, Happy days, my parents still there too! Also soft spot for splott and tremorfa, loved the scene in pubs in Clifton area, esp the Royal Oak

saw a few bands over there in my day !
rumney hasn't changed that much in the last 30 years apart from the carpenter arms and the potters wheel which have been bulldozed down . flats have been erected on the old potters wheel and now a sainsburys where once the carps stood . you must be missing home
