McGUGAN For EARNIE....

Mon Dec 12, 2011 10:50 pm

Not sure how much truth there is in this storey, but take a look at what is being reported in tomorrows D.Mirror :?:

Would you have made the swap :?:

Dont want McGugan but dont mind them having earnier back

I would rip their arms off for a swap deal. McGugan could potentially go straight into our side. He's fast, skillful and tricky on the ball.

Not sure what his attitude is like, but he's young and talented - I'm sure Malky could work wonders with him!

I hope this deal comes off!

That would be a great deal but to me it is very unlikely forest would swap a player worth at least 1 million for earnie?

We dont need mcgugan .. really need a creative winger :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

If possible we could have mcgugan, (for whatever) strange reason they want to exchange their best player, its a good signing earnshaw is rotting on the bench whats the point.

agree with above post we need a winger,
jimmy kebe / mcanuff ? (im just being realistic) good signing and as a striker maybe ebanks blake whilest he's off form get him cheap

in a second !!. he is a quality player

I would take that in a second!
Anything to get rid of Earnie and have a potential player whos good in this division who would make the side or at least play often!
think of the wages Earnies getting where it could be spent on McGugan also! :ayatollah:

I would have to say no to this one. I think he's a bit over-rated.

It doesn't say anything about a swap deal! Don't get carried away people!

"Forest have failed in a bid to bring Cardiff striker Robert Earnshaw back to the City Ground in a swap deal."

McGuegan whon was easily one ofnthe best players in the Championship last season for a striker who doesn't even get 5mins game time? Where is the sense in saying no ton that deal. I rate McGuegan massively and I'd happily pay the £1.5m they want for him too. I think he's just gone stale at Forest and needs a new club.

The way I read that story is Nottingham F proposed a swap deal for Earnie but it was turned down. It doesn't say the player they offered to swap was McGugan only that they now have to look at the prospect of selling that player to fund the serach for a new striker.

Maybe Earnie didnt want to go back to forest.

Re: McGUGAN For EARNIE....

I've always rated McGugan and if there was a chance I would like to sign him up but I think Forest are more likely to be looking for money rather than swap deals. Remember Earnie was offered less money to sign with Forest than we offered him and right now Forest have Marlon Harewood training with them, he is a free agent in January, but Cotterill doesn't believe they will be able to meet his wages demands.

Last season McGugan scored 12 goals which was more than Bellamy, Chopra and Whittingham, he also had 13 assists more than any other player at our club. At 23 years of age he must be worth a punt and I doubt he would cost £1.5m because he will be a free agent in June with only training compensation due.

So will Kenny Miller, Joe Mason etc...... Both are cleverer than Earnie in their all round game. Harsh on Earnie but that's football.
