I know this is a very sad time for all of us, but the welsh team need a new man in charge, any thoughts on Chris Coleman?

I can't see many options out there for us.
Mark Hughes - all tho i think his time has been and gone.
John Hartson - lack of experience, although so did sped.
Dutch ray - was speed's number 2. I would still keep him on board as no 2.
Chris Coleman - out of work for a while. Not really done much as a manager tho.
Dean saunders - seems to be doing a decent job at donny and has just changed jobs.
Any other contenders? Maybe they might go international.

the mark hughes for wales thread is already discussign new candidates.
the FAW have said due to gary speed they will not discuss a new manager until the new year, and i dont see much point in us doing any different.
but no, not a fan of chris coleman

I think he must be Welsh.

Why does he have to be welsh?
If thats the case I would begrudgingly say Hughes

if hes not welsh then he wont have the passion to succeed like a normal welshman mark hughes done well but lost the plot when it mattered so i wouldnt want him its got to be coleman with hartson on board i think plus we wont pay stupid wages for a foreign coach

Hmm, maybe but I think passion is a massive key. I'm not sure Euro managers could dial in to the Welsh passion thing. Scottish perhaps if not Welsh.

Dutch Ray for me.
If not, I'd choose Hartson with Ray as assistant.

Chris Coleman could be a good shout depending on how much money the FAW can afford.
I wouldn't be disappointed if he got the job myself.
Fri Dec 02, 2011 11:04 pm
I read last time they looked the wage they mentioned was 100k

Coleman could well be a front runner...he seems to fit the 'marketable' image Jonathan Ford appears to seek considering his working background, and has a fair amount of experience managing in various countries across Europe.
However, maybe more importantly he tries to ensure his teams play the right way, he's one of the favourites for me in view of the criteria I believe the FAW will work parallel to, but I'm undecided at this stage.
