Chris Barker

Just watching SSN and saw Chris Barker talking about being captain of Southend United. I'm just curious, I remeber being a huge fan of his when he was with us, and just wondering whether or not everyone else here remebers him with fondness or whether I'm just having some kind of nostalgic moment. We certainly didn't have much success filling the left back spot until Andrew Taylor this season after he left.

i think the only time i seen him play was three times, all terrible times aswell, one passed back to the keeper, but passed it straight to opposition striker

Started well, got overweight and poor. Went on loan to stoke was it??
Came back and was excellent, solid defensively but average going forward, comparable to Quinn now maybe?

I don't think he joined us until we were in the Championship, around the same time that we had Vidmar. I thought he was a fairly solid player for us.
