Groundhog Day ALERT - How much would players like Joe Ralls benefit from a competitive reserve team match on a regular basis? Apologies for bringing up the same all story but I think its valid. Ad hoc Acedemy games arent enough.

Also I couldnt help thinking about Malkay bringing on two teenagers as subs while TG was there. Making a point or lack of options? or both.

Brilliant to see young players coming through. Be great to have a few more!! That's what pisses me off with these teams who have sugar daddy's. It's not that they buy all the best players but the lack of opportunities for the youngsters at the club. Should be some kind of rule that a certain amount of the matchday squad should have come through the ranks.

TG wasn't there VT was I believe. Plus if Mason wasn't brought on imagine VT thinking "I gave you £250,000 why?"

My post didn't say Ralls came through the ranks. I was saying it should be some kind of rule to help youngsters get chances rather than clubs just buying instead of giving youth a chance!

According to his Wiki page we signed him in 2010.

He's got the same off the ball movement and awareness as Ramsey. It's unfair to compare the two but with the lack of loan signings, it giving the likes of Ralls and Mason the chance to show what they can do and to be fair I would have no issues with Ralls starting a game.
