Man Ure in for Rhodes now?United send Paul Scholes to watch Huddersfield starlet Jordan Rhodes
Manchester United have stepped up their interest in Huddersfield striker Jordan Rhodes, after sending newly appointed scout Paul Scholes to run the rule over the free-scoring 21-year-old.
Scholes was in the stands at the Galpharm Stadium last night, where Rhodes found the net once again, as Huddersfield drew 2-2 with Scunthorpe United.
The strike was Rhodes' ninth in his last four matches for the Terriers, while a hat-trick for Scotland's Under-21's in-between means he has 12 goals in five matches for club and country, in a remarkable purple patch.
That superb form has led to increased speculation about Rhodes' future, with a host of Premier League clubs now increasing their interest in the powerful hitman, who bagged 22 strikes in all competitions last term.
Sir Alex Ferguson has since been put on to the player by Scotland Under-21 boss Billy Stark, and with United loanee Oliver Norwood also in action last night, he instructed newly appointed scout Scholes to take a closer look and report back.
However, should Ferguson decide to push ahead with a bid, it's likely to take up to £5 million to secure his services, after Huddersfield chairman Dean Hoyle warned off interested parties last week.

the more the weeks go buy, i have to agree, if he gets to international stage and keeps banging them in up until jan, then i feel there may well be a bidding war for him and i think the prem will be where he goes too.. gutting really as hes def nit ready for the prem yet.. unless they loan him back to huddersfield for the remainder of the season...
perhaps we should be looking to make a move now???

Another goal for Rhodes in Holland tonight, on SS1

Gutted. He's much wanted. So when it comes down to it, there will be a bidding
war. Cardiff City wont get involved in a bidding war. The reason his goals to games
ratio is going up is cos hes maturing, getting stronger, and getting more experienced.
I'd love him here up front with Miller!!!

The 4th goal was really brilliant to be honest.
Caught the keeper off guard with an early shot and really took him out of the equation!

he scored again on the weekend . in a 1-0 win, i think some of the big teams wont mind paying a couple of million to shot him in there reserves. may play in the carling cup. or fa cup 3rd round. and you will never here his name again. hope he goes for plan b. and choose a team that he gets to play . week in week out?
