JORDAN RHODES - ONE TO WATCH.

Mon Oct 24, 2011 8:34 pm

I've posted over the last 2 weeks about Cardiff City trying to get this lad to play for our club now or in Jan.
Crystal Palace are/have put in a bid of £750 k for the lad, they want to sign in the January transfer window.

Jordan Rhodes at the time of this post has scored 13 goals in his last 5 matches ( Huddersfield & Scotland U21's )

At the age of just 21 and with the 4 seasons he has played Championship and Div 1 & 2 football - JR Would be a great buy.
The week before last his hat-trick was left foot - right foot - and a header...and at 6' 1'' is what we need.

Jordan Rhodes scored his 1st league goal v Cardiff City ( 2007-08 season ) Ipswich 1-1 Cardiff.
This season when we beat Huddersfield 5-3 - Rhodes scored 2 of Towns goals ( Carling Cup ).
Last season Rhodes got 22 goals in all competitions for Huddersfield...And he can only get better ( imo )

Lots of clubs will be in for him come Jan ( imo ) Look at what Ricky Lambert has done in making the step up from Bristol Rovs.
Unless these players step up a Division we will never know if they can cut it at a higher level, but Rhodes can ( imo ).
The one thing that worries me is...if Huddersfield keep on winning...Jordan Rhodes will be in the Championship with Huddersfield next season :(

quite a few good players have made the step up.. lambert being a good example, grant holt, more recently le fondre and our very own mason does not look out of place...

two hatricks in two weeks for rhodes, its only a matter of time before his demand and value increases... we should strike while the iron is hot..

He must have just missed being born here because I can remember his old man playing up here around 1990.

Think we may have a fight on our hands to get his signature. The lad has an uncanny knack of being in the right place at the right time and certainly knows how to finish.

If the Malays are serious they should give Malky the money, even if its 2 million I would take a punt. That should be nothing to a championship team.

I watched that Diouf fella for United last night and he was ordinary, and that was against Aldershot.

I would much rather the money went towards someone like Rhodes, who has had a few really good seasons of playing competetive football, and banged them in for fun. Young and hungry with quality, and the knack of scoring goals. Its a great mix.
