Im not trying to slag him off. and the WBO title IS something to be proud of.
But he does not have the one punch power to go all the way. His workrate is
nothing special and he is very 'hittable' He can take a punch, but when he
steps up a level i see him getting stopped. sadly.
Calzaghe was different, an ATG. He DID have a knockout punch, but once his
hands were fucked he upped his workrate so much that NOBODY in the world
could live with him. Calzaghe also had the toughest chin I've ever seen in
boxing and the biggest heart

Taffyapple, everything you said about calzaghe was spot on,except he was never known for his knockout punch. He was very accurate with his punching abilty. For someone with remarkable handspeed,he could hit the target at will

In his early career Calzaghe was known as a big puncher, up until he
fought Eubank, only one of 22 opponents had lasted the distance with
him, and there were some very early knockouts in there too, Eubank
said himself he'd never been hit harder. Calzaghe had to alter and
adapt his whole strategy cos his hands were fucked, which makes him
even more remarkable. The USA boxing media and fraternity love him,
but the USA boxing public hate him for beating up Jones and putting
old 'racist bernard' in his place

Im sure he had problems with his hands even when he was a youngster.I boxed the night he had his last amateur fight,he had an exhibition against a boy from my gym.You could tell even then he was going to make a living for himself out of boxing. He was very quiet back them days
