English Football: Change or be Changed

interesting article from the bbc.

basically the government are going to step in unless the FA can prove english football can sustain there debt, figures show collective debt of english clubs is £3.5 bill !!.

a massive 68% of turnover goes into players wages.

how do they solve this??

imo i think the best and most logical way is a salery cap as used in all major US sports. for example that next season all clubs can only spend a maximum of 55% of the clubs turn over on wages?? it does seem hard on the smaller clubs but its the only way imo to protect football.

what are peoples thoughts??

Agreed money is killing Football. Sky high ticket prices (f**k off Leeds) and wages are out of control. A million or more a Month is disgraceful. Yes Players are skillful but are they as skillful as Surgeons, Doctors, Nurses ETC ? Are they f**k. I have no problem in them earning a good wage but at the moment its obscene :evil:
