I used to work out in Saudi and there we had Arab trainees with Welsh, Geordie and Scottish accents due to them working alongside us. A new member of the team just starting would have a slight american twang due to them learning ALCEPT English.
I used to think these guys pretty amazing bearing in mind that 90% of them came from the local villages and spoke only their local arab dialect.
They would take about 6 months to learn passable English and then it would be up to us to teach them practical skills and develop their language skills.
