We do theatre weekends quite often but don't do these coach trip things, we drive to Slough and stay at The Copthorne Hotel there which is a few hundred yards off the M4. Lovely hotel and you can get some good deals on rooms if you book on the internet.

Buy theatre tickets direct and travel into London by train which is about a 20 minute journey to Paddington, costs about £7 return. Slough station is about 1 mile from the hotel, park and ride or get a taxo over there. Trains run back to Slough until about 1.00am so no problem getting back to the hotel.

If you stay Saturday night you can always look around Windsor which is only 2/3 miles away, you can see the castle from the hotel.

Nice weekend and you should save a few quid on that £340. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Lastminute do some great deals and I would recommend staying at one of the hotels near Wembley Stadium (The Ibis is the closest), if there's not much on there, as it's a short walk to the train station, where it takes you to Marylebone, providing you access to all underground stations!

You can buy an adult train ticket for about £5 at the newsagents by the station, which also allows you free travel on the underground and the London buses!

You can also buy cheap discounted tickets at the many booths at Leicester Square, or Piccadilly!

As one of the previous posters has said, the Copthorne at Slough is also a good idea, but you'll have a longer train journey into London and will have to leave the City centre earlier, to catch this train back to Slough! :ayatollah:
