A 41-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of Cardiff City fan Mike Dye, police have confirmed.

The Metropolitan Police said a man was arrested yesterday at an address in Worcestershire following the death of 44-year-old father of three Mr Dye outside Wembley stadium on Tuesday, ahead of Wales' European Championship qualifying game with England.

He is believed to have had a heart attack following an alleged assault outside the ground.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "A 41-year-old man was arrested in Worcestershire yesterday and is currently in custody in West Mercia police station. West Mercia Police carried out the arrest on our behalf. He remains in custody at this time."


The man's nationality is not known.

Six people were initially arrested in connection with the death, but investigators yesterday said no further action would be taken against them.

Lets just hope and pray that justice os brought out in this tragedy.

Know lots of jacks in Worcester along with Cardiff , certainly have no fans missing , spoke to a good West Brom m8 in Worcester and they have heard of nothing. Just hope they've got the right one this time .

What if it was a Cardiff fan who lived in Worcester or a fan of an English club?

What does it matter where he is from or who he supports? The person is scum and deserves the full weight of the law on him.

Question though? How many people on this board have hit somebody in the name of football? One punch could have killed somebody just as easily. That is what we need to stop. Violence at football needs to be eradicated totally in the name of Mike.
