Notice the role Miller's playing for Scotland today?

Sat Sep 03, 2011 2:32 pm

He's not getting involved in the build up play whatsoever like he does with us, because he has to play up front with Earnie. For Scotland, he's not dropping deep and linking up the play, he's on the shoulder of the last man, looking to get on the end of through balls and pressurising the defence.

Miller's role for Scotland is Earnie's role for us, so before his bashers call him sh!t etc, please understand that for us, as he is up front with Earnie, Miller is not being utilised to do what he's best at.

He is a different player with Scotland because Scotland utilise Miller to play to his strengths whereas with us, he is playing in a less familiar role where he is trying to do a job, but he is not being fully utilised to do what he's best at.

Disn't they play Cowie just behind Miller in their last game? Seemed like a good option for us.

One chance, one goal. He would have never have been in that position for us because he plays deeper to accomodate Earnie. Miller is a goalscorer and needs to be utilised in the same role he is being used for Scotland for us to see the best of him. Cowie (or Conway or Whittingham or Mason) just behind Miller could be a good option for us.

I been saying this for weeks.

If you played Andrew Taylor at Centre Half, you wouldnt have a go at him
cos the winger kept getting crosses in would you?

Miller has not been playing his normal role, he has made way for Earnie..
it has kept him out of the box a lot, so his sharpness hasnt improved

But mark my words, he will score more than Earnshaw this season. When
we get a different type of striker in, it will be Miller partnering him up
front.

Miller has come to a new club, unfit, not knowing anybody, playing in a
different role than he's used to. No complaints, he's just cracked on!!

He'll come good

I totally agree 100% taffyapple, Miller has played very well for Scotland today in his natural role. :ayatollah:

Maybe but I expect more from a player of his calibre.
The fact Earnie has dropped deeper and held the ball up much better than him is a massive worry. Ive been using the excuse of fitness so far and hope that is the case.
