THIS SHOULD PISS THEM OFF

The other week I had a letter from the police in Gloucester telling me I was going 40 in a 30 mile zone,
So I wrote them a letter, here is a copy of it , this should really piss them off, cos all Im doing is asking for Evidence that I would need if I want to take it to court.


Dear Sir
I have received communication from your self's regarding an alleged speeding offence and fine, you have ask for my driving License and the paper that is supposed to be with it. I have to tell you I never had a paper with my plastic photo driving License ,and to that case I have wrote off to Swansea DVLA to ask for one.
I inform you of this as I'm not trying to over look this matter ,I'm just trying to supply you with what you have ask for.
I would also ask that you send me the evidence that you speak of please.
Also if it was a fixed camera ? Or what kind of camera it was. I would also ask for evidence to show the camera was calibrated as per manufactures instruction on that Day ! When it was last calibrated , who and where it was calibrated, proof that the Calibration was carried out by a qualified engineer, and proof of his/ her or any other third party's qualifications, involved in the servicing and calibration. Also under what circumstances the calibration be compromised? Such as to be knocked, dropped, kept in hot cold damp places. Also That all proof of documents would have to be originals, not photocopy's.
Also when the last time this camera was used, by whom it was used ? And and if it was stored/kept in the conditions set out by the manufactures.
I would also ask that this evidence I have ask for be forward on to me ASAP Please ,as time if of the essences, as you have only given me ( what I feel ) is a short time to study the evidence I have requested from you I believe this evidence I have ask for is within the law as to help me defend the Alleged case against me. I do hope non of this evidence I request within this letter, be withheld or denied me.
Once I know if the camera was fixed or in a car/van or hand held, I'm sure there would be more information I will require from your self's in this alleged matter. Also as Im a person from and living in Wales and speaks Welsh I would ask all the document I as for should be in Welsh , which is my right to ask for.

Tried this one myself, the police very quickly supplied me with all the info I asked for and was subsequently fined £60 and received 3 points, so best of luck chief,..!! P.s the only person who was pissed off was me..!!

I don't treat it as a joke , I never drive fast thank you as I have to small kids of my own and they and my wife was with me that day. If I had seen a 30 limit I would have kept to it, the thing is I never seen any 30 limit any where. I'm not for one min saying that I may not have touch around 40, But Mr Perfect driver, I have been driving for over 40 years, Class 1 also, and never had a point on my Licence.

But for your argument on the Welsh bit you have shot yourself in the foot , As you should of wrote that letter in Welsh you bloody fool. They now need not reply in Welsh Good luck any way they are sneaky little bastards

Correct.

Any street, road or avenue which has street lighting and no speed signs is automatically a 30mph zone (even in the day when the lights are turned off). Whilst that is obvious in a built up area sometimes there can be main roads with 4 lanes which have street lights and no speed limit displayed and many motorists get caught out assuming the speed limit is a lot higher.

The Police have been issuing speeding tickets for many years now and they have seen all the tricks many times and the OP's tactic is bound to fail and he will receive points and a fine, no matter how long he has been driving.

It has happened to all of us in the past including me and whilst the sneakness is a piss off the only way this will end is by paying up and taking the hit, otherwise you could end up with a more serious charge of trying pervert the cause of justice.

That letter is available on-line from many sources (worded in better English too!! ) and is seen as a 'get out of jail free' card by some....

Police are now wise to it and are ready with their responses, so any likelihood of a reprieve is HIGHLY unlikely....

IF you think you may have been harshly treated then I can only suggest you get yourself a very good specialist solicitor and take his advice to the letter (so to speak )

I took the authorities on once after being accused of the serious offence of 'being a motorcyclist' ( when I got 'done' for remonstrating with a motorist who had actually 'clipped' me after they had charged through a red light on a roundabout) and I refused to accept the 3 points and £60 on offer....

Result?? A wasted day off work, 6 points and £120 + costs etc....

I don't know your circumstances but I do know enough to say: BE VERY SURE THAT YOU CAN WIN IF YOU TAKE THEM ON, AS THEY HOLD ALL THE ACES....

It's all a load of money grabbing bastards doing what they can to vulnerable and easy targets. I have no problems with speed cameras by schools, parks, high rate accident areas and placees with other such risks butto put camera where it is clearly money grabbing is riduculous. My old man got caught speeding in pentrebach road at 7.30 in the morning doing 34 in a 30. Yes I agree the speed limits are there for a reason but it's 7.30 school holidays and that particular road going towards treforst is nothing but derelict at that time in the morning. The flip side you can pay £80 to do a speed awareness course now if that is not money grabbing Alan Tate is an up standing member of the community and would never be seen with a broken leg on a golf buggy.

Did you see the camera ? If the camera was hidden then you can get them on that one.Also you can always play the trick that it was a car going the other way which set it off.I know in Radyr they have " by accident" let the tree grow to block the bright yellow markings.
