I'm awful but have this test tomorrow... i think its pretty basic..i just need to know if im doing it right..

X = 1.4
Y= 3.1
Z = 3.8

work out the following..

X=YZ =

X (X=Z - 2Y) =

X-squared (Y-squared + Z-squared) =

any help would be appreciated..workings out too ;) :ayatollah:

the sample test is online...im shut out of my photobucket though so i cant upload.

the answer to X + YZ = -10.39 i just dont know how the feck they got that...

Yz means y x z so 3.1 x 3.8 which is 11.78 so the answer to x + yz would be 1.4 + 11.78 which is 13.18 so question must x - yz which gives 1.4 - 11.78 = -10.38 or if one of y or z is a minus number since a +number times a minus number gives minus answer,

Mate - the questions make no sense

X is 1.4
YZ means Y times Z which is 11.78

So can't see how you can get that answer as to me it would be 1.4 (X) + 11.78 (Y x Z) = 13.18

Even if you took it away it'd be 10.38

Sorry I can't help more

X = 1.4
Y= 3.1
Z = 3.8

work out the following..

X=YZ =
Yz means y x z so 3.1 x 3.8
X (X=Z - 2Y) =
Z - 2 x y, work out 2 x 3.1 first which is 6.2 then z - 6.2 which is 3.8 - 6.2 = - 2.4
X-squared (Y-squared + Z-squared) =y squared means y x y so 3.1 x 3.1 =9.61, z squared z x z which means 3.8 x 3.8 = 14.44 then cos + in middle , 9.61 + 14.44= 24.05. Hope this helps ,

any help would be appreciated..workings out too ;) :ayatollah:

I think the answer to the third one is not 24.05, but 47.138, don't ask me why, I can't explain that :lol:

Chaps, off the top of my head try this:

X Squared is 1.96.
Y sqaured is 9.61.
Z squared is 14.44

Y squared + Z sqaured = 14.44

Multiplied by the sqaure of X gives you 47.138 ...

Elementary.

Yes definitely 47. ..., didn't see the bracket. as coops said work out bracket first then times by x squared,
