How would the current Swansea squad do in the championship..

Sat Aug 20, 2011 9:01 pm

this season ?

I think with our team last year we would be very confident again of win against them in a derby, this season I think we would settle for a draw.. With only a few additions of prem quality to there team this season they would no doubt finish in the play offs again.

Thoughts ?

because your tight arsed board didnt sign no prem quality and your fans(who are horrible) dont deserve a prem team. brendan rodgers is a gem so the sonner he's away from you lot, the better for him.

A good championship side atm but I feel they will lose that as they struggle in the premier this season. Although it is early in the season I am seeing things there that happened to Derby when they had that aweful campaign of the lowest ever points record.

Swanseas looked very nervous in front of goal yesterday and they just cant afford that now. They need to correct that as soon as possible and I just dont think they have the quality there to do that.

Errrrm..............it doesn't matter, they are in the prem and we're not!

Bitter to the very end like a typical cardiff city fan. What makes the cardiff city fans any better than the swansea fans? you blast on about their fans being plastics but only last season were some of you talking about the "plastics" you have. Plus for "fans" of the team, you sure as hell do a good job hating on your own players/managers etc etc..........

Let it rest, they got promoted because they performed better in the season than you when it mattered. You bottled it, it was your fault, no one elses. You talk about swansea as if you DESERVED to be in the prem this year but the way you performed at the end of the season, you really didn't deserve anything - you got hammered in the play offs and you had a couple shockers towards the play offs.

No hard feelings from me! swansea deserved to get promoted and we didn't! thats football! think they have a good side for the premiership, and if they play there football they might just be ok!

Hate to say it but I think their home games and style of play could keep them up and that Routledge and Graham have improved their squad that got promoted and that those two players have proved their worth in this division. :(

However, we should be concerned with our chances and I think once we settle down as a team and maybe bring in a few more players we'll be alright. In Malky we trust. :ayatollah:

Why not discuss how your current squad would fair in the Premiership (if you got there)

A bit like saying "if my aunty had balls she'd be my uncle" in it.
I can tell you now the step up is unbelievable, everyone knows it is a great league, talent with big money players.
after 2 games everyone down here is realising the difference but we're gonna enjoy the ride.

So where will you finish. I saw your game on Monday and Man Citeh were awesome in 2nd half. I've read/listened to 2 or 3 reports about your game yesterday.Charlie Nicholas raved about your passing and possession. The Mail on Sunday basically said Wigan dropped 2 points as they hit woodwork twice and missed penalty. BBC text said Wigan pay the penalty as their headline.

In my opinion you pass the ball well and look good in your own half and halfway into your opponents half. In last third of pitch you need to be more proactive and get more players forward. Cant understand why Joe Allen has not started yet and Agustien has.

Hopefully you'll carry on not scoring :D

Was atmosphere spoiled by the plastic new breed of fan. A good mate of mine is a Carmarthen Jack who has not been to Lib Stad since you beat us 3-2. He will go to away games but cannot stand the new breed of fan who sits down and objects to the bad language used by the old school fans...

We still play great football even though it bores some of you  but we've got to be more clinical in front of goal.
It was a well earned point i expected all 3 before the game but like you said they hit the woodwork
and had a very good penalty saved by a superb keeper who'll we struggle to keep hold of if he plays like the last 2 games.
We had some chances graham looks rusty and routledge whos yet to score in the premier needs game time.
All in all we look very comfortable just need to test the keeper we need a strong midfielder who can hit the target bodde
is the player but don't know if he'll play again knee probs. Joe is a class act who should start, but augustien is a stronger
player whos looking sharper.
Don't know what to make of the lita signing i personally think his prime has gone.
We'll see, as i said i'll enjoy the ride if we go down then i'll still be there just like the old days.
I must say there are a lot of plastics there who were talking shite, a lot more families women & kids around where i sit so
that kills the atmosphere they'll soon have enough with my boys swearing  he's worse than me mun.

What is the score with Bodde-clearly a class player. Thought he came on in a pre-season and went off after 15-20 minutues with hamstring or calf strain. Lita is a strange player-a talented individual but an awful attitude.

As for people complaining about kids language-tought Sh1t. I take my 2 boys (14 & 7 years old). They've been in the old Block A at NP and in all 4 stands at the CCS. Swearing is part of football. If people dont like it-go and watch the egg.

Bodde came on pre season and went off after 15 mins which is what was planned by Brendan to give him confidence but his knee tweeked and has gone back to Holland again i'm told his head is f****d (mind thing ) it's been nearly 2 years or more
personally can't see him coming back but he's had a new contract so we'd claim the insurance.
Could be rumours but he should be made to see a specialist over here so we can keep an eye on him.
What do i know though Brendan knows what hes doing so in Brendan we trust. Quality player on his day is bodde.

Re: How would the current Swansea squad do in the championship..

bodde was a quality player in his day but now he's about as much use as a spastic.

forget him and move on.

we lost another good player through injury in scimica, it happens. :(
