yep the season we got promoted, best game was the wolves away 4-1, had a brilliant day, stopped in a pub in our transit van and another van pulls in from cwmbran and we had a great drink with them, a few of them wearing red beret hats and singing a song called the rose and crown rap.happy days :ayatollah:

my second fav . as someone else has mentioned the stand out game that year was wolves away winning 4-1 .

preferred the 1982/83 promotion season personally . the chesterfield last but 1 away game stands out that year . on the pitch after with all the players . amazing scenes as we celebrated promotion on the pitch

Both great seasons. 82/83 was my 1st full season watching. Loved Jeff Hemmerman and the Bennett brothers. Remember last 2 home games (Brentford and Orient) and also Pompey/Sheff Utd earlier in season for great atmospheres and big crowds (7-10,000)

87-88 was good with Gilligan up front. Never forget his volley v Exeter at home. Quality.
