Talking to a BCFC Fan last night !!

Sat Aug 06, 2011 3:10 pm

They are boycotting our game next week. He says there is no Bubble but it is a voucher system which is more or less a BUBBLE without the escort. They all have to meet at the Service station and they will be given there tickets 90 Min's before the game.
Just like us they are pissed off at being treated this way. If they come by train they would have to get a Taxi to the Service Station.
TBH I don't blame them, when i go away i like to have a drink a laugh not put up with that shit. I will not go on any Bubble or voucher game this season.

nukes it is annoying for ourselves and other clubs. there hasn't been trouble for a few years now but i think a lot of clubs are starting to fight back against the "system" now :ayatollah:

No mun, Chavski was a setup.

TBH I have done 69 aways never looked for it but seen plenty of trouble and been involved a few times but these days compared to the 70's and 80's it's a joke. all posturing and very little action most City fans these days go for the crack the carmaderie and a few pints don't go looking for it but if others look to take liberties then we will always oblige.

I really can't be arsed with all the restrictions and really think we should of all boycotted the game tomorrow to make a statement that we will not put up with all the shit thrown at us by other Clubs and the police

However thats just my opinion and to everyone going tomorrow have a good trip and hopefully you can roar us on to 3 points :ayatollah:

While agree that some of the custodial sentences handed out after the event were a joke and also that the policing that day wasn't great either, how was it a setup?

The vast majority of people in Kings Road that day could have walked away from the standoff but chose not to. I understand that there will be a minority who got stuck, seperated from friends etc but most people were in the middle of it because they wanted to be in the middle of it.

If there wasn't a trial after this and you judged the Chelsea situation on just the events of that day would you still say it was a setup? There was a massive standoff and some outbreaks of violence involving hundreds of fans on a main road in the middle of London. Half of those fans were ours. This is part of the reason we still get bubble trips.

Bristol City fan here. We've had enough of the bubbles and restricted travel now, and the only way to force the clubs to grow a set and challenge the old bill's decision to still impose restrictions is to hit the clubs in the pocket. We did it for the Swans game a couple of years ago and they finally relented down there. Hopefully if we go the same then then it will get dropped for our games - both ways. I'd be surprised to see more than 400 there next week at present; not helped by our shite result today of course!

Let's be honest there will still be trouble at these games, but nothing like the same level as most of us have experienced at these games in the past.

Fair play to the wurzels. They are doing what we should be doing. Wonder if there will be a total boycott tho. Imo you'll always get certain amount of fans going.

what a pathetic statement and one of the reasons why bubble trips exist. Football fans should be able to travel to whatever town they are playing at without any threat of violence towards them. "come at their own risk" - what a cock you are.

I find meeting and talking to opposing fans home or away enjoyable - you suggest because they are not cardiff fans they should fear for their safety. Neanderthal man is alive and kicking in Cardiff.
