Final day of week one in the Portsmouth crown court today in what may be a three week trial. Peter Mogs is the one on trial from down with us and there are 4 pompey in the dock with two others already gone guilty. One of the Pompey barristers tried to get his lad off saying that even though he'd swung a punch, in his view, because he didn't connect then it should not be viewed as using un-neccersary force. The judge replied that if someone aimed and fired a sub machine gun at you, just because they might have missed doesn't mean they weren't using un-neccersary force. Fair play even the opposing barrister burst out laughing, it was a light moment in a really hevy going long drawn out case which must be costing a fortune.
