THAT OLD BOOT, THATCHER........

Fri Aug 05, 2011 9:36 am

Watched the docu-drama, 'Margaret' last night and re-ignited my detest for the woman...

Seems I am not the only one.

Thatcher once told Winston Churchill 'If you were my husband, I would put poison in your coffe.' ............

Churchill replied, 'Madam, if you were my wife, I would drink it!'

Tidy!!

It was his private secretary he said that to, not Thatcher but the phrase fits perfectly! :ayatollah:

I detest her for what she did against the miners.
If I was doing the "Death sweep" - I would pick her.
I will celebrate her death

How naive is that!!

Thatcher smashed the Unions, tied the working mans hands behind his back
then...

Hey presto..

Opened the floodgates to Europe so the CBI could turn round and tell the very
people who built britain "f**k you, if you wont work for £3 an hour i know a
man who can!"

As a Welshman and seeing what she did to Wales I love so much ,I would be more than happy to piss on her grave.
I will put out the flags when she turns her toes up.

My sentiments exactly - and I know what i'd like to do to her precious son Sir Mark but it wouldn't make nice reading on a public message board. I remember seeing her crying on TV when it was thought that the slimy b*****d was lost in the desert while taking part in a motor rally; the t**t was holed up in a luxury hotel living the life of Riley!

Anyway, back to the Churchillian quotes - they may in fact be apochryphal but I think the most generally accepted versions are:

Nancy Astor (the first woman MP to take her seat in the House of Commons) said to Churchill:
"If I were your wife I would put poison in your tea."
Churchill replied with:
"Madam, if I were your husband, I would drink it."

Bessie Braddock a Labour MP for Liverpool said to him:
"Winston, you are drunk!"
He replied:
"And you madam are ugly. But tomorrow I shall be sober."
