BELLAMY 'WON'T PLAY FOR ANY BRITISH CLUB EXCEPT CARDIFF'

Tue Aug 02, 2011 9:06 am

Craig Bellamy has snubbed Scottish giants Celtic, opening the door to his desired move back to hometown club Cardiff City.

Despite talks between Manchester City and Hoops’ boss Neil Lennon, 32-year-old Bellamy will not be making a return to his former club north of the border. It is understood the Wales striker, who has a year left on his contract in Manchester, will not play for another British club unless it is the Bluebirds.

At a meeting with Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini last week, Bellamy made it clear he wants to return to the Welsh capital.

Bellamy feels he has unfinished business at Cardiff after the Bluebirds failed to make it to the Premiership last season and is itching to try to put that right next campaign.

Bellamy’s main aim had been to honour his contract at Eastlands and he had hoped to force his way back into Mancini’s plans, but this now looks unlikely.

He was left out of Manchester City’s pre-season tour to the United States and Mancini has a host of attacking options at his disposal for the forthcoming campaign.

Mancini had hoped to broker a permanent move for the player, but has now softened his stance and looks likely to allow Bellamy to go out on loan.

Bellamy himself had also wanted a permanent switch, but he could be tempted by a season-long loan deal if Cardiff is the destination.

Bellamy is so keen to return to the Bluebirds that sources close to the player say he has been considering playing for them for a lot less than his current £80,000-a-week wages. Those wages could still prove a stumbling block to Bellamy’s return home.

Bluebirds boss Malky Mackay – who played with Bellamy at Norwich – has refused to speculate on the striker’s return saying the player and Manchester City must resolve his future first. But it is understood that at boardroom level at the club there is a great desire to see Bellamy return to Cardiff.

Not much options left now!

I would put another loan offer in to Man City for Craig now Malky.

Its onlya matter of time...he's got them by the bollocks. It will all come down to whether Man City want to continue paying £90k a week for him, and have him in the reserves or whether theyre happy to share some of the wage burden with us - Simples ;) :ayatollah:

My brothers mate works at Man City. He has just heard some very
Positive news about Bellamy coming home. I'm not going to say more
Than that but I'm buzzing!!!!!! I don't ever post rumours either :)I

I think City should sort out a deal to do with Bellamy that could involve
A charitable donation to Sierra Leone or summat at the end of the season!!!!

Hope your right Taff, I think it is inevitable but we need time to get the team settled with Bellamy and start to gel, sooner the better. If the £35k a week is offered i dont see why Man City need to turn it down

If City don't want to use him then it would be in their best economic interest to let Craig go. Also, it's a bit f*cking nasty effectively taking one of the few seasons of football that he has left away from him just because Mancini is a bit of a girl. Sorry girls.
