i dont know but i`m starting to doubt that bellers really cares about cardiff at all and that the one and only reason he joined cardiff last year was because to be near his family and nothing else! .... i really hope im wrong and he re-signs but for someone who is reported to have more than 6 million in the bank to be worried about getting his 80k a week beats me! .. sure to god £25-30k a week is enough for any man. f**k what am i saying OF COURSE ITS ENOUGH its enough for 60 men ... even this acadamy thing he`s got going in africa is strange cause if i had money to give away, id give my money to the kids in tredegar first! ... WHATS YOUR THOUGHTS?????

I've never understood where this stuff about Bellamy loving the club has come from, he's always stated in the past he grew up as a Liverpool fan. As far as I remember, when he arrived last season he made it clear he moved back to be close to his family.
He has stated he would like to be back here this season, lets hope it happens. Let's not get on his back if it doesn't, he made a huge sacrifice by dropping out of the premier league last season, regardless of the reasons behind it, we got to see a great player in his prime playing for the City.
This is a good read, tells you a little more about why he came to Cardiff and what his future plans are..

Craig wants to get a good deal from Man City as well as continue playing football and well as being at home with his family. A lot of negotiating there. I feel some of us want him to throw away a £4m pay packet and play for us for free. Unless he does that he does not love Cardiff City I get the impression some of us think.

I guess only himself and his close friends and family know the answer to that question. I personally think he does love the team, and will do his utmost to play here next season. But would you play for £25,000 a week for your beloved team when you could get £80,000 a week playing elsewhere? Professional football is a relatively short career (especially with his injuries), and for his own and his families future financial security I'm sure he wants to earn as much as he possibly can in his remaining years. But, as I said above I'm sure he will stop at nothing to try and ply his trade with his beloved hometown team next season.
As for him supporting the academy in Africa, I have the utmost respect for that. Many people are of the view that charity starts at home, which is fair enough and I'm not knocking anybody for that. But personally, I have done my fair share of voluntary work in Uganda in Africa, and I can assure you that the children in Africa need help far more than our children do here....and I can also assure you that all help given in Africa is appreciated far more than it is here.

he no doubt likes cardiff but cares for his family more which is obvious. if his family were living happily in manchester he probably woudnt have come to us last season

Got to agree with some of the things you wrote,£30k a week earns roughly £1.5 million a year for someone who coming to the end of there career thats a gd wage,i know if i had millions in the bank i would give to charities closer to home but i havnt
The problem is he should not have said he would come back here if man city didnt want him , i believed him when he said he would

Spot on. £4m is a lot of money, regardless of how much money you already have.
People's lifestyles tend to match their income, a guy earning 30k per year probably has expenditure to match that figure, a guy earning £4m a year probably has expenditure to match his income as well.
This is a guy who might not work again once he's retired, that's potentially 50 years worth of money he has to have put away to support himself and his family.

Would never disrespect him,its only an opinion but will always be a hero cos of last season

Aherne i agree with what your saying. i think he does love cardiff regardless if he did follow liverpool because i'm sure he supported both clubs like many do around the country.
we don't really know how much money he needs to fund this training camp but i do agree that 30k a week seems more than enough and that's not even including the money he has made over the last decade. not a dig at bellamy, it goes for all players. i'm strongly against most players being allowed more than 30k a week. they don't need it. 100k is ridiculous.
i think he really wants to come back to us but few things are in the way which he doesn't have much control over.

Forums are all about opinions..... But I totally disagree with that.... Bellamy loves Cardiff and proved that last season with his attitude on and off the field..... And I also disagree with giving money to Tredegar I'd give it to pontlottyn instead

So wrong.
One thing Bellamy aint is a two-faced bullshitter. Its why he falls out with
so many people
So when he says he loves this club, the area and the fanse.. I believe him.
Does he love Cardiff City more than £4million quid?? I dunno, but he never
said he did, did he?

Shearer loved Newcastle Utd.
BUT.....
He still had it written in his contract that he was to be the highest paid player at the club.
At the end of his career, when he was way past his peak he was on over £100,000 a week for his hometown club.
You can love your club.
But you also have to have respect for what you are worth.
Bellers at the least is worth £50,000 a week.

with his injury problems i diagree to be honest! ... i think £30k is enough for someone who most probs will miss a third of the season!

BELLAMY
he was never a true cardiff boy,
he was one of those kids who were like ah cardiff are shit when we were in 3rd division supported liverpool.. wanted to play for them and never cardiff.
when we got our new stadium , success and ambition bellers wanted a slice of the cake,
besides the fact his family are here it was convenient.
he was left out of man city realised he's made as much as an impact as possible in the prem and wanted to get back in the tabloids with new found legacy as the star of cardiff

To my knowledge i always thought he was a Cardiff fan never new he supported Liverpool lol In bellars defence i can understand that he wants a good deal from man city lets be honest its a lot of money to throw away really and no man in their right mind would go from 80k a week (i think its 90 hes on tho) down to 25 to 30k even if he knows or can get 80k or more elsewhere even if he does ideally want to be close to his family etc its common sense get as much as you can in this life. Lets say you was on 3000 pound a week in London would you go to a job that pays 500 pound in Cardiff just to be at home ???? I do think Bellars enjoys playing for the club however he should be able to get a good deal from Man city for his troubles and i doi agree he should be paid a massive chunk of his wages from Man city if they want rid !!!
just my opinion

far from the truth. at a young age like most he followed liverpool. but his first ever game he saw was at the city. and from that day on he was a bluebird

Good point bluebird7291
Agree with your post,we all start off following a football team, and back 35-50 years ago we only had 3 tv stations
None of this moden day LIVE FOOTBALL
At the end of the day Bellers is proud to be a Cardiff boy and would love to go down in history as the man who took his hometown club into the Promised Land
( lets hope man city give him the chance )

Maybe it's just me but I don't care if he loves the club it not and I am massively grateful he dropped down a legit last season, he didn't have to. People seem to be enjoying having a slight dig at him ATM, if i was him reading stuff like this id stay in the prem.

One life, one career, one chance to make his money from football....
Craig has stated his desire to come 'home' to Cardiff and also his desire to ENSURE the future of his African project. The money he can gain from his Mancini City contract over the next twelve months would go an awfully long way towards that and Craig should be applauded for his commitment on that particular front....
Craig WANTS to play for the Bluebirds for a number of reasons (now that Mancini doesn't want him) and undoubtedly family reasons form part of his thinking....
No issues with that personally....otherwise you'd have to take issue with Earnie and anyone else who comes back towards the end of their careers....
As long as he (Craig) comes I'll be very happy indeed....

im of the opinion that bellamy is a legend for coming here last season even though honestly i cant see him in a cardiff shirt again, the way he played towards the run in showed what kind of man he was,the passion was clearly there,he virtually begged to play when the experts were saying he should rest
fair play to him for his charity work in africa when most modern day footballers are acting like twats

I don't agree with this, either. Of course he loves Cardiff but he's under contract to Man City and he's being a man of his word by sticking to his contract. So Man City seem like they don't want him, it's their perogative to put him out on loan if they can't get a transfer fee for him, which his wages currently prevent them from getting. I guess that's the price you pay for asking, and getting, such high wages in the first place. If you want to leave, you need to find a club that fancies taking you and your high wages on and it seems that his past is catching up with him. No-one is prepared to take a gamble on his personality more than anything else.
And this reported £6 million in the bank. Where is that info coming from? Who, apart from the man himself, knows exactly how much he has?
