Strikers - still available on PFA Free list

Sat Jul 09, 2011 11:25 am

A few names I was looking at earlier still available as a FREE transfer - as far as i'm aware at present.

NAMES - - - - - - - - - - - PREVIOUS CLUB

Giles Barnes - - - - - - - - - WBA
Fabian Brandy - - - - - - - Notts C.
John Carew - - - - - - - - - - A.V.
Craig Fagan - - - - - - - - - -Hull
Rory Fallon - - - - - - - - - - Plym.
Diomansy Kamara - - - - - -Fulham
James McFadden - - - - - - Brum

I'm not entirely sure if any of these players have recently tied up any deals? but they might be worth a shout? some more than others! :ayatollah:

Kamara or Mcfadden would be quality additions, i wouldnt bother with the others though

It's a risk though? at 32 regular injuries and high wages.

probably better to risk £2m on Goodwillie ?

Yes, definitely rather goodwillie than carew, really hope we can wrap up this goodwillie deal next week :ayatollah: :D

Diomansy Kamara is about the only player I'd take off that list. Craig Fagan would be a good squad player.

Carew is a decent player, but I'd much rather bring in Bellamy rather than splash the cash on him.

Barnes isn't a striker :?

Fallon's an ex-Jack b*stard so that's an automatic no go. He's shit as well.

Fagan's old and shit.

Carew's old.

Kamara's massively overrated and would want tons of wages. He can go to one of the Bigot Brothers in Glasgow for all I care. And they'd be dull enough to fork out for him.

McFadden hasn't done anything in football for a good while now and would be a concern for me unless he came on very very low wages.

didnt say barnes was a striker back up for the wingers :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

merlin regardless what everyone says, i really want goodwillie here. this court issue is a problem but having goodwillie, earnie and then possibly another quality striker would be brilliant. then we would also have nat jarvis and maybe the youngster from plymouth.
i think parkin could play a good part this season but we will have to wait and see.
if we had goodwillie and kamara for example, think we could be really dangerous next season :ayatollah:

I guess the only issue would be the wages they want.....dont get be wrong wouldnt mind Kamara or McFadden, but I'd expect they want alot more wages, look at Jay Bothroyd for example, the England cap has gone to his head.

I think they're all still on that list for a reason, they're either old, demanding large wage packets or injury prone.

I wouldn't bother with any of them.

Malky should stick to what he's currently doing, working the market for young players who want to fight to get into the premiership.

They are still free transfers for a reason.

Bad injury record and high wages.

Is that the Giles Barnes who used to play for Derby and scored that last minute volleyed equalizer at Ninian Park about 4 or 5 years ago?

If it is he was rated as some kind of rising superstar at the time, what happened?

i totally agree goodwillie is the one young desperate to impress at a higher level and playing in the same team as your best mate who knows how u play putting the ball exactly how you like it goodwillie first then perhaps carew for the right price though if not no loss we got THE BEAST!!!!!! IN MALKY WE MUST TRUST
